"Fabulous week in the Dordogne based at this property - very rural and quiet but lots of lovely towns and Chateau’s and other things to see and do in the region so you will need a hire car to get around. The Gîte is superbly welcoming and comfortable - has everything you need for your stay. Craig and Caroline are fantastic hosts too, full of great advice beforehand when planning your stay and also on hand if needed while there. If I could 6 stars here I would! "

"After reading the reviews we decided to take a punt and book the holiday. I’m so glad we did! All the reviews (good and bad) are spot on. The property is ‘rustic’. There are no frills but the layout of the house was perfect for 2 families and it is spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need. We all forgot towels and Lucie was at the door before I had even signed off. "

"Gite propre, mais odeur de renfermé qui persiste dès que les portes et fenêtres sont fermées. Bon confort literie sauf le lit gigogne dont le bruit des lattes est insupportable pour le lit du bas. On a du dû déménager ma fille dans le clic clac du salon. Cuisine équipée sauf couteaux pour cuisiner, eau très calcaire donc dépôts dans la bouillir et traves de blanc sur la vaisselle qui sort du lave vaisselle. Conseil : faites votre vaisselle à la main. "Lovely cosy farmhouse in a great location. Hot tub was a bonus. Perfect for up to 4 people, but anymore may be a tight fit if weather not good and you were not able to use the outside space. Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Saint Avit Senieur. Would recommend."

Magali et Phillipe sont des hôtes très accueillants, leur gîte est cool et convivial et la vue sur le château depuis la piscine est tout simplement magnifique In a word. Fantastic. "Property and grounds are great we loved it 😎 The host could soften the communication a bit, normal you get an email before you leave saying..hope you’ve had a great time, would love to see you again not we remind you of the contract rules including don’t leave any toothpaste marks in the sink…..etc..etc. a bit harsh it felt like being warned and told off by the teacher !!!!!!!"

"We have had a disappointing experience with this vacation rental. All four of us have suffered from bed bugs. We initially thought we were dealing with mosquitoes. But the bites got so big and painful that it wasn't until later that we realized we were dealing with bed bugs. We complained about this to the landlord afterwards and it seemed only reasonable to us that they would refund half as our holiday enjoyment was seriously ruined. We have not received any response from the landlords."

"Excellent communication beforehand. Arranged meal on first night which was excellent. Owners very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. The house was so clean, the two bathrooms were a godsend so no hanging about waiting for them to become vacant. Lovely sitting area outside even though it was a bit chilly in the evenings. Local area is full of lovely places to visit."
