"Les Volets Rouges" is a large and comfortable family home set in quiet rural location, with lots of room indoors and out for family and friends to relax and play.
It has been our beloved family holiday home for over 40 years, and has seen three generations of all ages enjoying the beautiful house, gardens and surroundings.
Set in 2 acres of gardens and surrounded by farm-land, the house offers an informal self-catering retreat from which to enjoy the best of the Lot et Garonne and neighbouring Dordogne, and some fine golf courses too!
The property, located in the small hamlet of Queyssel, comprises an original and characterful building dating back nearly 200 years and offers accommodation for up to 12 guests.
Les Volets Rouges has 2 x twin rooms with en suite, 3 x twin rooms and 1 x double bedroom, with two bath/shower/w.c.
A large, well-equipped kitchen and dining area with 3 meter oak table downstairs and a second kitchen and dining area upstairs provides the indoor dining facilities.
Les Volets Rouges also has three sitting rooms, two with TV / Video / DVD. WiFi is available but with limited range.
Outside is a large table for 12 under the shade of a chestnut tree for idyllic outdoor eating, with a large BBQ nearby. A second large terrace catches the morning sun for breakfast, croissants and coffee! There are several other peaceful outdoor seating areas.
The beautiful pool area surrounded by lawn has comfortable sun loungers and a "pigeonnier", acting as a pool house complete with changing area and drinks fridge
There's a charming and relaxed character to the property that immediately puts guests at ease and ready to enjoy a stress-free holiday, relaxing in the gardens, using the private swimming pool, visiting local villages and markets or just taking it easy with local walks by the Dropt river.
Given its rural location, use of a car is essential - a choice of car rental companies are based at nearby Bergerac international airport.
We try to accommodate your holiday date choices as much as possible but in the high season of July and August change-over days are Sundays.
