"The location and property were exceptional, as well as the ease of coming in, parking, and view. I would suggest not having motion lighting in the entryway as it was activated whenever someone needed to use the water closet, which disrupted the guests sleeping in the living room. The door had to be lifted up to lock, which took a bit of strength. There were only a sparce number of dinnerware, some were slightly damaged. "This home (Kaldbakur) and its location are remarkable. First, the setting: It’s on the Eyjafjörður Fjord and is very near the water with no structures in between. We had snow just before we arrived and the view was incredibly beautiful. The aurora arrived that first night (KP Index of 5) and it was amazing. This location is suitably dark (and beautiful) for aurora photography. So, if you don’t feel like trekking out into the darkness, you can a get nice aurora photos from your house...

The views are amazing and it’s set in a nice quiet area away from the hustle of the “tourist” area in Akureyri, but close enough to dip in and out. I would definitely recommend this location. It’s set up to accommodate large groups too."
