Carmen's Mexican restaurant was good. Friendly service and good food. Also the only restaurant in town besides the DQ Grill and Chill open on Sunday.

"I do not like to write reviews like this. The facility overall was shabby, though my room was clean. The restaurant and pool mentioned in the Expedia listing were both closed (for a very long time). I had no clean water in the bathroom sink or tub. The onsite manager was very polite and helpful."

"This is hands-down, our favorite staycation. We use it to ease into to the higher elevations in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Las Animas it’s not a fancy town, but we’re not looking for that. Nice quiet little town- hot weather!!

The grocery store closes at 7 so if you need anything you have to go to either the Dollar store or out of town. The only fast food place is dairy queen and their breakfast is ridiculous. You pay $4 for a four bite burrito.
