Comfortable Passive-Solar 3-Bedroom Earth-Bearmed House In Quiet Area Near U.W.

This comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, solar electric house is located on the north edge of Laramie, nestled into the hillside in a quiet neighborhood with shared open space and paved green-belt trail just up the hill for walking, running or biking. From the top of the hill, you can see the Snowy Range to the west, the Laramie Range to the east, and the mountains of Rocky Mountain National Park to the south. With its 360 degree views, this is a great place for viewing sunsets or sunrises and watching the weather.
The xeriscape landscaping looks good year-round. A 2-car garage and driveway provides off-street parking in addition to the two street spaces.
Inside, the fully equipped, recently updated kitchen and large dining area provide the opportunity to cook up great meals and save money by dining in. The living room is furnished with a couch, two chairs and a rocker, and has large, south-facing windows for a sunny, warm atmosphere and nice view.
Of the three bedrooms, one contains a king size bed and two contain queen size beds. The large guest bathroom with tiled shower and full tub is across the hall mid-way between the two guest bedrooms. The master suite has a comfortable love seat with a lamp for reading and a desk for more serious tasks. The master bath/shower and toilet are separated from the sink area so two people can use the space at the same time. This bedroom also has a large walk-in closet and sliding glass doors out to the small fenced dog kennel.
The artwork hung throughout the house is original watercolor by Cheyenne artist Carleen S. Williams (1913-2013).
Ames Place is 1.2 miles from the U.W. Art Museum and Arena Auditorium and 1.4 miles from War Memorial Stadium. Albany County Fairgrounds is only 4.5 miles away if you're here for the Jubilee Days rodeo or the Snowy Range Music Festival. This is a great place to stay if you're in Laramie to enjoy cultural events or attend basketball or football games and want a quiet retreat after the excitement.

This was a great place to stay and had everything we needed to accommodate our needs including wheelchair access and our 2 dogs. It was very clean. We loved the small dog run off the master that was very handy. The alley which was where the wheelchair access was from had some big ruts due to heavy rain and we ended up parking in front of the house and having my husband drive down in his power wheelchair, to spare the stress on lowered wheelchair van. Great place to stay!

It is a little bit older home but is spacious and comfortable. It is in a nice quiet area within minutes of everywhere we needed to go. Back alley to garage was washed out making garage inaccessible but front parking works fine for single car. Pricing wasn’t much higher than the decent hotels in town and you get the comforts and space of home, which is nice when when planning to stay more than just one night.

Nice House - Nice location
We wanted to spend some time in Laramie area to hike, bike, and fish. We also wanted to be able to bring our 2 dogs with us - so this place worked out perfectly for us. The house itself is quite large. 3 BR and 2 full baths. The style is probably a little out dated and could eventually use a refresh … but the house was very clean, beds comfortable, plenty of towels etc. Access to washer and dryer was a plus. Big, nearly empty, 2-car garage; we parked car in the garage and used the other side to store bikes. House backs to a paved walking path with large fields to run the dogs, plus there is a small dog run attached to the front of the house. Laramie is not a big town, so the house is close to everything. Great communication with Theresa beforehand and for check in/out. My only critical comment would be one I'd echo from other reviews. While were an ample supply of dishes, glasses/cups, utensils, and kitchen gadgets … there were very few pots and pans. There was one large frying pan and 2 small sauce pans and no others which made preparing some of the meals we had planned a bit challenging. Would be nice to have a little larger assortment … nothing fancy or expensive. Perhaps a smaller frying pan and a larger pot or two (something to cook pasta in for example.)

Clean property! We have stayed in the past and it meets all our needs! We packed kids cots and there was pleanty of room for all the adult and kids to spread out and still have privacy. Easy to get back and forth feom the game without alot of hassel. Highly recommend!
