"I loved this unique hotel, it was a tick off the bucket to stay in the rainforest! The staff are so friendly and the food is excellent and great value for money. It is very easy to get to the animal centres and I was still able to access the internet so could order grab taxis. I’d definitely recommend bringing bug spray! 100% would recommend, where else can you stay in the rainforest?!"

"Rooms are basic but the location to orangutan rehab center, etc and wilderness surrounds is all worth it. Unique jungle experience. Staff and owners were so very helpful and considerate. Excellent cook here! We had a medical episode and the owners and staff couldn’t do enough to assist us! Thank you to Jessica and her staff."

"The team at the Losge were so helpful. We were a day late due to a missed connection and we wanted to head into the jungle and they arranged everything for us and even took a day off of our booking to facilitate a stay with their sister lodge at the Kinabantagan River. As you can see the breakfast was fabulous. "

"The property is basic, but well maintained and food is pretty good mostly. Beer available to buy. No wifi - but you can get a poor connection from receptionist's phone acting as hotspot. Friendly atmosphere. 3 days, 2 nights, equals 4 boat journeys, 1 day walk and 2 night walks. First 2 boat trips were disappointing - didn't see much except same monkeys who hang around camp. 3rd saw orangutans and crocodiles. 4th saw whole herd of pygmy elephants with calves on riverbank and swimming. "Johnathan and all of the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Sorting and booking trips for us, helping us with local tips etc. The b and b is in the middle of the jungle, so please bear that in mind when you book, but is good value for the money."

"There are improvements being carried out, which will make a difference in the future. We were unable to get the advertised wifi at all, despite the router being reset many times. This was annoying. On four occasions we had random people enter our room without knocking, which was not okay. Once guy even got cross with us and said we should have locked the door. "The accommodation and food was nice, we were let down by the tours and communication. The night walk was disappointing as we walked very close to our accommodation, so was not really the jungle walk we were expecting. However the river cruises were good, apart from being let down by our boat breaking down within the first 10 minutes of our tour and being stuck in the water for over 20 minutes. "We have never been to an area like this before and came because of the wildlife and culture. Sepilok Forest Edge Resort provided both. We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the way Sepilok invites you into their culture and the way the lodge was built with the environment in mind. "
