Lakehouse at Blackwood Arm

Welcome to "Lakehouse at Blackwood Arm"

Magical North Arm views where you will be enchanted by the native wildlife and nurtured by the wilderness and natural beauty of the area.

Our single storey, absolute waterfront cottage is ideally located on 90 acres of tranquil native forest on the upper reaches of the North Arm and is an amazing private holiday destination!

The Blackwood Arm property is a secluded coastal bush hideaway located on the sought after Gippsland Lakes, South Eastern Victoria. Just 10 minutes from the popular tourist destination of Lakes Entrance, 5 minutes from local golf courses, 3 minutes from the regional airport and still conveniently close to the pristine 90 Mile Beach.

The Lakehouse is located within walking distance to the East Gippsland Rail Trail and Wyanga Park Winery. As a guest at the Lakehouse, you will also have exclusive access to the private Blackwood Arm jetty on the tranquil North Arm where you can enjoy kayaking on the lake, a relaxing picnic on the jetty or just drop in a fishing line and test your skills against the local catch.

The Lakehouse is fully self-contained. This cosy cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, and is able to comfortably sleep 4 people. Standard bedding in the Lakehouse is a Queen BED in the master bedroom and a Double BED in the second bedroom.

Linen, bath towels and beach towels are included in your nightly tariff quote, along with costs associated with your departure clean. We ask that you leave our guesthouse in a tidy condition when you depart.

Please note, as we are a private owner rental direct to the guest, there is no daily servicing of the guesthouse during your stay, however the guesthouse has laundry facilities including washing machine, clothes line and iron.

The Lakehouse has amazing 180 deg water views across the North Arm. The private balcony has an outdoor dining area which is fully equipped with BBQ to ensure you are comfortable whilst making the best of the view and enjoying romantic evenings watching the stunning sunsets.

Whilst we love all pets unfortunately we are not able to accomodate them inside the unit,

Peaceful oasis with glorious views and golden light sunsets
Stay here if you want to escape and feel remote without actually being more than 10 minutes from everything you could need. What a fabulous place to recharge with comfortable rooms, wide verandas and views to take your mind away. Highly recommended and Rhonda is a fabulous and witty host.

A little piece of paradise
Rhonda’s home offers a tranquil escape and some much needed peace and quiet. Make sure to head to the secluded little private pier on the river with a glass of wine. The chickens were great company too! Thanks for having us Rhonda.

Peaceful and Stunning
Spent a few nights with family and loved it. Rhonda was very accommodating and friendly. Our daughter loved feeding the chickens our food scraps. Feels secluded even though it's a shared property and only a short drive into town. Highly recommend

A beautiful calm location
We loved being able to go kayaking on the arm of the river, and have such beautiful views from the house. Rhonda was very proactive in her communication, which we appreciated as the district was new to us.

Among the trees
Stunning, very quiet property set amongst the trees with breathtaking views of the lakes. Enjoyed our stay and Rhonda is an excellent host who was made us feel so welcome. Special treat welcomed us with a cheese platter and wine and fresh eggs for breakfast from the chickens. The cottahe has everything you need. The balcony is to die for! We had a spectacular morning taking the kayaks from the private jetty and enjoyed the amazing scenery on the river. A great base to explore the Lakes entrance region, not far from town and very private. Highly recommended and we can't wait to be back!

Get into the landscape
A house cleverly designed to take in the view across the valley and low hills. Walk down to the water with a glass of wine on the private jetty, or take your kayak or canoe like we did, for an easy paddle on the waters of Blackwood Arm.

How's the serenity?
Rhonda could not have been better as a host. We got a call from her on the morning of our departure to check on our estimated arrival time. She welcomed us to the property with great warmth and obvious pride. The fridge was stocked with drinks, supplies, including freshly laid eggs from the hens that we made friends with during our stay. A cheese platter was also provided for us to enjoy while taking in the beautiful position of the property, overlooking the North Arm. The property was very clean on arrival. It contains everything needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, particularly enjoying sitting on the deck while reading. The magnificent Gippsland Lakes provide a wide range of activities for visitors and we particularly enjoyed some local walks, including the beautiful Rail Trail.

Great location, wonderful host, peace and quiet but never boring
The accommodation was comfortable, welcoming cheese platter and wine, bonus basic breakfast foods supplied with eggs from the chooks right outside our door! We went with our 2 kids and had a ball canoeing on pretty much our own private stretch of river. Didn’t catch any fish, but hubby tried with his $15 Kmart fishing rod anyway. Fed the chooks 3 times a day. When we had more energy we drove to the beach for a swim. Beautiful clean shoreline, just be careful waves can be pretty strong. Carnival at night was great fun and cheaper than going to the show in Melbourne. Plus no queues! Just remember to bring insect repellent. The bull ants can get nasty.
