Great Location, clean house, thoughtfully decorated. Our group had a wonderful time. Lots of seating spaces and outdoor areas. Walkable to restaurant/ bar. 5 stars !
The house is very charming, you can see alot of thought went into the decor. There was plenty of room for the ten of us, and the beds were comfortable. The locals were friendly and helpful.
This house was classic "Lake Rabun" with tons of character and the location can't be beat. It was perfect for our groups consisting of two families with 4 kids between the age of 1 and 6. The hosts were very reachable and eager to please, but we didn't have to bug them much because everything was so well prepared in advance for our stay. We hope to stay here again next summer.
The house is beautiful.... you step back in time to this immaculate home!
Right a food the street from the marina, Louie’s pizza and Lake Rabun Inn.
Scotty and Jadon are terrific.... almost like your personal butler.
Can’t say enough good things!

This property is perfect especially if you are looking for an authentic early 1900’s lake house experience. The house inside is beautiful old wood paneling with hard wood floors. Full of antiques and interesting curios, beautiful paintings, lots of books and never ending surprises. The bedrooms are beautifully fitted with sumptuous beds and high end linens. Lots of windows that let in the natural light and beautiful mountain lake scenery. The bunk room is so lovely with its own sitting area and gas heater. Many games and books for kids were provided. ( I was with with 3 old grammar school friends and we actually fought over who would get the bunk room.) The kitchen is a dream with high end appliances and enough dishes, cookery and flatware to feed a small army. The gas range was amazing. There are lovely places to sit outside and with the babbling brook that runs right by the house, you will want to partake no matter the weather. This is truly a unique house that will make you want to never leave. Nothing has been forgotten for your comfort.
My family celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at The Bend. Everyone loved this beautifully restored and decorated old Lake Rabun house. The dining room was the perfect place for a family dinner celebration with the house’s George Harrison LP playing in the background.
We explored the house and property with wonder, slept well, ate out, and spent a day boating on the lake without ever getting in a car. We loved hanging out on the patio in front of the house. At night the moon lights were magical. It is a special place.
We loved this amazing historic vacation property. Despite its age the house looks great and has every amenity you can think of. The house comes with a grand kitchen and large dining room that can accommodate a large humber of people. We also loved that there are three king bedrooms in addition to a perfect 'kids room' with 5 beds (incl. 2 bunks). The house is fairly close to the road but Lake Rabun Road is pretty quiet, so we didn't have an issue with that. It's close to the towns of Lakemont and Clayton as well as to Tallulah River Gorge, Minnehaha Falls and Angel Falls.
Lovely old house- such fun to be there. Design of house given great care and thought and great for a big family with lots of different ages as there is lots of space for games and for cooking and eating.
The house was outstanding for my family. Very accommodating bedrooms and living space and you can’t beat the setting of a mountain lake. We enjoyed the living room and kitchen areas, the outdoor fire pit and stream flowing through the property. There were several great hiking options close by as well as easy access to Clayton and even the charming little downtown Lakemont area. Scotty was a great host and we would absolutely stay here again.
This is a lovely property and a beautiful area! The house is very cozy and perfectly in keeping with a North Georgia getaway. Our family of five had plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. We had friends staying nearby so we didn't use the outdoor space much, but it was great with a firepit and lots of chairs. And the owners were so kind to leave us some delicious eggs from their hen house! The house is a short easy walk to Louie's pizza and a short drive to Clayton where there are some really fun restaurants. We had a few communication issues on check-in, but that was likely due to my own technology challenges. Overall, we highly recommend the house and the area!
We stayed here for our wedding which was held across the street at the Pavilion at Lake Rabun. The property was beautiful and meet all of our needs. I loved the uniqueness and the coziness to the house. We had a small issue getting the code when checking in, as there is limited/ no cell service at the property so make sure you get this info in advance. Overall great house and good experience working with the owners.
We love the character and charm of this historic home!! We feel as though we are the newest layer of history to make memories here, such a great vibe! Location is wonderful as well!
Absolute Perfection! We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay any more.
This place was an absolute joy to stay and enjoy.
First, everything in the house was neat, tidy, and clean. I felt like I could use any dishware or pan without having to pre-wash.
The layout of the house allowed everyone to have a good time but also to have some individual space for themselves. The house truly is a lake house retreat! You have wonderful views from every bedroom in the house. And the screen-in porch that runs the full length of the house is just lovely.
The homeowners were easy to get in touch with and extremely helpful with any questions we had.
House was cozy with plenty of space for our family. Loved the dining room which had beautiful view of the woods and creek. Great location across from the lake and marina.
This house oozes charm, very cozy and very much an old school lake house. Description is very accurate, beds are super comfortable and plush, great mattresses and sheets. Bunk room would be great for kids. Lots of games available. Note there is no television which was not a problem for us but others might want one. House does have wifi but cell service in the area and on the lake in spotty, at least with ATandT. I think Verizon is better. Kitchen very well equipped although you can walk not even 100 yards to Louie's for the best pizza and The Lake Rabun Hotel for a nice dinner. Halls is across the street to rent a boat or put in your canoes or kayaks, buy ice, sundries, etc. One other note, only one shower, again probably not a problem for a family but some adults might not love sharing...Great location, easy to get back into Clayton for groceries, etc,
Vintage Rabun! The house was a dream. Old-school charm--but with uber-comfy oversize beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The grounds are beautiful, with a lovely patio and the creek running right along the house. Lake access right across the street for boats--but not swimming. Coziest charm.
What a beautiful escape for our family! Great access to Lake Rabun, to nearby waterfalls for hiking , and rivers for fly fishing. Memories made for a lifetime!
