Ups and downs
The owners are very good at communicating at first but after a while they just dont reply no more. If you have little ones pack a baby gate and first aid kits. There is a ledge in the upstairs bathroom and a ledge that goes up from the living room to the kitchen area. So my babies got hurt a bit had to go buy first aid kit stuff. We brought our mom and it was rough for her to go to the bedroom upstairs. We had to take her home on the second day because it was to much work for her. The stairs going down is very steep after the first night no one went down there no more. The lake is a 10 min drive not walk. If you are allergic to pets i would not recommend because there is pet hair everywhere. Had to spin clothes extra time in washer dryer was not that great either .Ok now for the ups pretty decor saw a bear right by the porch. Was quiet. The lake is beautiful. Scenery was great. My mom had fun fishing. Beautiful wrap around porch.

Cozy cabin
The cabin was perfect for celebrating New Year, very cozy and with a wood burning fireplace. Although there are neighbors along the road up the mountain, you can’t see the other houses from this cabin. We enjoyed the kid friendly hiking trails nearby, shopping in Chimney Rock Village and the local restaurants. Asheville and Greenville are located within an hour from the cabin and we visited there too. Overall we enjoyed the area and will go back in the summer next time.

Annual Lake Lure Getaway
Our family had a great time again in Lake Lure! We also love the Riverbend community. We have stayed in many properties here. Lake Lure never disappoints. The scenery is amazing. We love Chimney Rock as well. On arrival we were greeted by a flock of wild turkeys! The cabin was cozy but had plenty of room for our family of 5. We enjoyed the fire place at night and porch sitting in the afternoon. The cabin is remote so be prepared for a few minute drive up dirt roads. But this also means its very quite and private. We barely saw anyone else our entire time there. The mattresses were very comfortable! The stone showers were unique and provided a spa like experience. Because we cooked 2-3 meals we would have preferred the kitchen be a little better stocked. The cook ware was a little inadequate. The smoke alarm upstairs was a little sensitive after showers. We had to make sure the door was closed for a while. Overall we had a great time and if you are looking for a quite peaceful cabin, this is it.

A perfect location and quiet. Very peaceful and a very nice cabin and property. Excellent! Plenty of solitude and nature. Had a bear drop by for a visit. Deer, wild turkeys, coyotes and ravens and woodpeckers. The area was beautiful with nice trails and roads. The lake was gorgeous as well. Will definitely be back for more stays. Thank you

This is the cutest cabin! It is the quintessential cabin in the mountains/woods. With the bear theme and the beautifully carved bears it reminded my daughters of Goldilocks and the three bears. The cabin is very private with big decks. We enjoyed evenings on the decks and the kids and the dogs played outside in the yard and woods where we could see them. We did some early morning hikes down to the river area and lake. We drove down to the beach since we had a lot of beach stuff and tubes. The cabin was clean and well taken care of. The older kids loved the basement bedroom with their own deck. To sum it up, just a very special, quaint home surrounded by a beautiful area.

Disappointed
Cute but too cozy for 4 adults and 4 children. Lots of sleeping beds but the basement area that slept 5 was very damp and musty, even with a dehumidifier. No detergent for dishwasher or washer. Washer/dryer were working poorly. You Could NOT walk to beach, DIRT road was curvy, windy, narrow and dangerous to walk. Plus the beach is over a mile away. No toaster and be sure to bring your own trash bags and toilet paper.

Perfect Anniversary Stay!
As we have stayed previously and numerous times on these properties listed under this host there is only one way to explain each visit.....it just gets better and better! We could not ask for a better stay anywhere in the beautiful mountains of Lake Lure. Our visit this year once again was outstanding. The property is so comfortable. It is secluded and quiet with only the daily music presented to you from the rustling forest along with the small animals and birds in their performance playing, singing and talking to each other. All the while enjoying and relaxing on the porch in a front row seat. It just doesn't get any better than this. It was a perfect. stay. Our hosts are amazing at how engaged and available they always are to assure their guests have everything you need and more, before and during your stay. Thank you Liz and Kyle for everything!!

Great mountain retreat
Cabin was very comfortable and as advertised. We saw lots of deer and had a beautiful private location. The four stars versus five is because of a couple of small items. 1. A warning that the stairs are steep should be noted in the listing. 2. The grill needs to be replaced, it is very worn out. I would return, but not with my family member who had difficulty with the stairs. Enjoyed the area and the stay.
