Nearby Good Harbor Beach in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park offers swimming and combing the sandy beach for rocks and shells. Your water activity dreams will come true with nearby rentals of paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, boats, other water equipment, and bicycles. Charter fish in Lake Michigan for salmon, lake trout, and white fish or take the ferry out to visit one of the islands in the National Park. Plentiful hiking and biking trails are available throughout the area. Leland, Glen Arbor, Suttons Bay, and Traverse City are within an easy drive and offer upscale resort shopping, art, music and film festivals, dining, casinos, golf and mini-golf. Wineries and breweries abound with available tours as well as plays and concerts in Traverse City and Interlochen Music School. Local restaurants feature live music if you prefer your concerts while dining.

With large view windows and skylights, you will be warmly welcomed with bright interiors in this four-bedroom home upon entry. Happy cooks will love preparing grand meals and picnic lunches in the sophisticated and fully equipped kitchen with plentiful prep space, stainless steel and gas appliances, and a full dining room. Grill provides the perfect outdoor opportunity for meals on the multiple decks, equipped with 2 picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and 4 reclining spa loungers. Relax with a good book near the large stone wood-burning fireplace, curl up on the comfortable furniture while hosting movie marathons or sports games on the large screen TV. Although we only had 3 adults, the home is large enough to accommodate many more, with three twin beds, two queens and a king on the second floor.One of our party is an avid runner and enjoyed long runs along the nearby vineyard roads. We were not far from Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and spend a wonderful day hiking along the lake and on the dunes.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The consensus of our extended family was that the house fit our needs and we enjoyed the log home uniqueness of it. The gathering rooms were large and the grandsons loved the foosball table and hot tub. The view is great in spots, but is in danger of growing trees,etc, infringing on the views.The charcoal grills had not been cleaned and were located in a weedy spot, so we did not do outdoor grilling.

We recently rented this house for a couples (4) getaway wine weekend. We appreciated the close proximity to downtown Leland and many wineries in the Leelanau peninsula. Unfortunately there were some key essentials missing from the property such as salt/pepper, dish soap and a wine opener. Other than the missing items we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Viewtopia to anyone looking for a place to fit a large group with stunning views of the lake. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a beautiful home with great views over the lake. The inside of the home was very clean and comfortable. I was in a group of 4 couples that stayed there for a long weekend and went to several wineries. The outside of the house is due for some landscape work and step maintenance. I spent the first 30 minutes sweeping down spider webs on the outside of the house. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Everything in the house was clean and nicely set up for us. A few wasps did come into the one upstairs bedroom, so checking for those would be a good idea. Other than that we loved our stay and cannot wait to go back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 11 of us (4 adults, 6 kids 5-12 and one baby) stayed at Viewtopia for a week and had a great time exploring the region. The house worked great for our needs, and hosts were responsive to any questions or minor issues that came up. We would definitely stay again! It isn't lake front, but there are nice views, especially from the upstairs bedroom- and the lot is very private- it truly feels like a cottage. It is a short drive to a pretty sandy beach and a couple of hikes. Sleeping bear and Traverse city are each about 20-25 minutes away.

This is a quality built log cabin with lots of space and a wonderful country feel. Kitchen equipment and utensils are complete and generous. The views of the lake are stunning, but note, because of the shabby conditions of the landscaping, we were looking through the bushes and trees. The views presented at the website was not legit. That view is from the upper bedroom not the main deck.

A couple of things weren’t ideal (the two steps leading down to the grill came dislodged which made stepping down hazardous), and regulating the temperature was a bit difficult), but we would certainly return to the place.

Reviewer Comments: The house was very clean but one of the few options left after our reservation for July were canceled by visit up north properties. It was much more expensive than the house that we originally had booked and I had no beach at all and was not near the water. That being said, the view from the balcony was very nice and it had a large kitchen and family room.
