"As you probably imagined, this place has the best view, period. When you travel south along CA-1 or PCH, the lodges on your right hand side is always better. Cliff House Inn's view falls into the "right hand side" category - unobstructed, private, mesmerizing, and tranquil. When we first arrived, parked and went to the front desk, that cozy ocean peek through the front gate is unparalleled. The catch - go for the 4 "big rooms" when you can. They make a huge difference. They have better views, bigger room, better amenities in general, etc. You don't stop at a cliffside hotel just for a quick rest. You probably plan to stay there for an extend period, and the deluxe rooms are worth every penny for the upgrade. Dinner offering is fine. Breakfast is subpar and goes quickly. Best season to visit is those days with just right amount of sea breeze in the day time, and a bit chilly at night. Space heater works fine, but may be not in the winter. Overall it's worth the stay, and we will definitely come back sometime, probably in the off season."

"My husband and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary and what a perfectly located, lush, well-appointed space! Mary greeted us with her extremely friendly pup “Bonkers” and gave us some local tips. The donkeys were such a delight to watch while we had our morning coffee. The spa was always the perfect temperature, and the blue/green firefly lights projected on the giant tree over the backyard produces such a gorgeous effect at night! Inside, the bedroom had comfy beds and were exquisitely decorated. Full bathroom and dressing area gave plenty of space. There are walking trails right by guest parking that can take you to the lake or all the way to the ocean! We spent much of our stay exploring Ojai, Oak View and Ventura but could have easily stayed at the Bird’s Nest the whole time and just relaxed. I imagine this would make a great personal retreat spot, as well. We will save this as a favorite!! Thank you, Mary! "

"We had the best time! Have visited the Ojai Valley area numerous times at all levels of accommodation. Sorry to say we have driven past many times without even checking out property. The grounds are beautiful with so many shady nooks / sitting areas and so more expansive than we guessed from driving past. "

"This is a lovely property in Oak Ridge, just outside of Ojai. It’s very spartan but wonderful in every way. My absolute favorite part was the large jacuzzi! With 50 degree weather, it was awesome to get warm and feel those strong jets, especially after the hiking I did. Thank you! "

From the entryway lounge patio,to the whimsical pottery mugs, rain shower and ambient lighting, every detail was perfect.
