Last week we had the pleasure of renting this lovely beach cottage. In fact, we loved it so much and had such a good time that we have already decided to rent it again next summer! The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and everything we needed was in close proximity--beaches, stores, restaurants, and even public transportation and the Post Office! Though the owners have retained the original charm of the vintage cottage's pine floors, paneling, fireplace, etc., the kitchen has been tastefully remodeled and is well-stocked. The bathrooms are also updated and very nice. Entertaining was a breeze and so much fun with the terraced outdoor brick patio, BBQ, palm, ficus, and bird-of-paradise trees, and even a nice lawn area. This became the favorite meeting place for our So Cal friends during our stay. The downstairs bed and bath areas made it ideal for 2 families when we had guests. I loved throwing open the 2nd story double glass doors and walking out onto the balcony to smell the fresh air and gaze at the ocean view...or laying on the beautiful upholstered outdoor couches and reading under the ficus tree. The fireplace is not only functional but it is the only warmth needed on a chilly morning and so very charming. The kids enjoyed the short walk to the beautiful neighborhood beaches and I've got to say that the beaches in this neighborhood are especially beautiful and rival any of the So Cal beaches. We had our cameras out everywhere we went! Nightly young adults spent a lot of time at the restaurants in a short walking distance (The Coyote Grill was especially popular with our young crew!). The owners Robert and Danielle are a warm and inviting couple who are easy to work with and were thoughtful to every detail of our comfort. We recommend this rental with the highest ratings.
