First of all, the pictures of the nice beach below the balcony are misleading. Not sure if the photos are old or if water levels differ significantly by time of year, but we were there at the beginning of April and there was no visible sand whatsoever - it was very rocky and the water came right up to the shore.
The place itself was good enough for our purposes. We spent a lot of time out on the balcony watching the waves crash in and reading, visiting, and having drinks - very relaxing. We did quite a bit of our own cooking, so one thing that would've been nice was a barbecue. The bed was old and uncomfortable and should be replaced. There is no air conditioning, so expect to sleep with the fan blowing on you all night. I also recommend bringing ear plugs, as the waves hitting the rocks is very loud. It says there is internet, but we didn't see any available wi-fi networks.
As for location, it's a very short walk down to the beach park and there is a long stretch of beach you can walk along to find a space to hang out. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Laborie, where there isn't too much going on but there are a few grocery stores and bars. The people were very friendly and we always felt safe walking around, day or night. Be sure to check out Mama Tilly's for supper. Also recommend going to Salt Rush Cafe down by the pier.
The property manager, Tyrone, was very friendly and hospitable. We appreciated him picking us up at the airport (no cost) and asking us if we needed anything every time we walked by his place en route to the town.
All in all, if you're like us and don't care about luxury while on vacation, this place will do just fine. I do, however, find it a bit overpriced. For a similar rate, we stayed at a place in Soufriere, a town where there is a lot more going on in terms of attractions, that was newly built and had air conditioning and wi-fi.
