The house of La Serre was built in 1904 by a child of Laborde who made a fortune in Paris as a cook of the Republican Guard. It also has outbuildings (not rented except the garage) probably older. It is surrounded by a large garden of 3000m2. Garage for one car, others can easily park in the garden or on the parking of the church 30m higher.
The whole house is accessible except the cellar and attic for security reasons. On the ground floor, to the left of the entrance you will find the kitchen - living room (fully equipped kitchen) with functional fireplace (wood available) and cozy corner with chaise. The room opens onto the veranda with garden furniture, barbecue and access to the garden where a very steep part allows children totoboggan in winter if there is snow. In the summer you can pick plums, apples and pears. A small washroom where the washing machine is located communicates with the kitchen.
To the right of the entrance is the living room with sofa bed for two people, another sofa, armchairs, T.V. games, books, magazines ... Toilet in the entrance.
On the floor three rooms: one with double bed and two baby beds (bed-suitcase + bed-umbrella), a room with a double bed and a single bed, and another with double bed. It communicates with the previous one but also has a particular entrance. The large bathroom with toilet communicates with the first bedroom and also has a special entrance. The beds are equipped with duvet, bolster, pillows, extra blanketscan be found in the wardrobes of the rooms. Linen is not provided.
In summer there is the possibility of renting an attic room on the second floor with double bed, entrance and dressing room for an extra fee.
Laborde is a small village - 80 permanent inhabitants - located in the heart of the unlikely region of the Pyrenean Baronnies, between Bagneres de Bigorre, Lannemezan and Saint -Lary, in the shade tutelary Castle Mauvezin, built by Gaston Phoebus, and Abbey of Escaladieu. In the summer, at the castle, activities for children, including making ribs, exhibitions and concerts at the abbey.
Although the altitude is not very high, between 500 and 700m, it is a mountain environment that we discover at every turn and from the windows of the house, butthe snow is relatively rare. Laborde is 40 minutes from the ski resorts of Loudenvielle, Val Louron, Peyragude (super !!!) and Saint - Lary. La Mongie is 50 minutes with access to the Pic du Midi. Spain is 1 hour away through the Bielsa tunnel. 10 minutes by car, the thermal spa of Capvern offers spa, fitness, fitness. Nearby, the waterfall and the chasm of Esparros, the prehistoric cave of Labastide are many walks to walk without counting all the other hikes you will have the pleasure to discover.
On site Claudette's bistro-grocery store will welcome you for a convivial aperitif by the fire in winter, on the terrace in summer; you will also find excellent regional products which you can go to see the manufacturing on the spot. Wednesday morning do not missnot the market of Lannemezan which occupies all the center town and especially on Sunday morning the adorable little market of La Barthe de Neste with the chocolate factory "The Pyrenean flakes", sins of gluttony insured. Saturday morning is the market Bagneres de Bigorre will welcome you, you can have lunch under the hall. Do not miss to visit the small villages along the Neste going towards Saint-Lary.
