"Overall, a bit basic but it was an okay stay for one night in the winter. Mostly just the lack of transparency, as the hotel reception charged triple the amount of the 'additional fee' than what was listed on the Expedia site when booking. Otherwise fine for what you pay - thank you!"

"Great hotel! Spacious, very clean room, comfy large bed. Very good breakfast. Nice gym! Very helpful reception staff. I've contacted them, after my stay, about my receipt and even though Hotels.com made it kind of difficult for us to contact directly, they manage to help me right away. Talking about going the extra mile! Really appreciate it. I will return, for sure, on my next trip in the area. Recommend it!"

"Lovely setting and very well places for lakes and roads to getting around the Friesland. Rooms are a bit tired and the bathrooms need some TLC. Great staff and good facilities. "

"Our special requests were dealt with promptly. The staff were very helpful and we really appreciated the elevator. We enjoyed our breakfasts at the hotel and were pleased to discover meals at the nearby brew pub. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well-appointed. The absolute best though was when we couldn’t get a taxi, reception called the hotel owner who drove us to our next destination - above and beyond good service!!"

"We stayed in middelgroenden 16 at the beach resort makkum. The resort itself is a good place to stay. Friendly staff, lots of playgrounds, boat and bike rental and you can walk to the beach. Sadly, Our rental property wasn't that great. The interior looks dated, there were a lot of stains on the carpet and the curtains. There were 3 bedrooms but only 2 closets..the kitchen was poorly equipped. We would like to return to the beach resort makkum,, but we will make sure to book another property."
