"A Magical Holiday Experience at Dar & Douce, Seychelles Our 13-night stay over New Year 24/25 at Dar & Douce in Au Cap was absolutely wonderful. Despite the rainy season, the Seychellois warmth—both in climate and hospitality—shone through, making our vacation unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Peter and his daughter Guyanne, along with the wonderful housekeeper Janine, made us feel right at home. Their attention to detail, friendliness, and readiness to help with solutions to any queries were exceptional. Peter’s resourcefulness in arranging car hire, recommending fantastic restaurants, and guiding us towards hidden gems around the island was invaluable. The property itself is comfortable and charming, offering excellent value for money. The peaceful ambiance and thoughtful touches made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Dar & Douce is more than just a place to stay—it’s a wonderful haven from which to experience the true essence of Seychelles. We’re so grateful to Peter, Guyanne, and Janine for their care and hospitality, which turned our holiday into a special and memorable experience. We will be back, for sure. "Villa deserves more reviews. Large villa with pool on large plot with garden and elevated views of the easterly horizon. Three double (not twin) bedrooms. Master or upstairs bedroom 2 can take an additional single bed. Also another single bed in the downstairs lounge/library area. Equipped with all the basics for self catering and has a good dishwasher and a chilled water cooler. Also BBQ and an extra outdoor shower near the pool. (Useful for rinsing off beach sand). Regular thorough housekeeping by Sylviann. Co-host Jude was extremely helpful in introducing the villa to us and subsequently. He even met us at the airport and led us on the 15 min drive to the villa. Host Paule was also helpful at all times. Car is essential as there is much to see and do. Nowhere is more than c.45mins away and many beaches etc are much closer. Villa is a very short downhill walk from a good local supermarket and ATM. We were all delighted: the space; the privacy; the views, the outdoor terrace and pool furniture. Excellent aircon and ceiling fans too. And a very useful washing machine. We were an adult family of 6. I may have missed some things but the best of very many holiday cottages/villas i have stayed in over the years. Loved the Seychelles too. Biggest winner for me: all beaches are public and not at all busy by Mediterranean standards. Not locked away in hotel resorts - they are obliged to allow access eg. Four Seasons/Petite Anse. Hope to visit again one day. "

"The location is great it’s right on the beach. Not close to the party scene but if you want tranquility this is the spot for you. You basically have your own private beach. Do rent a car as things are further away. Having a car makes this hotel great as you can explore but don’t have to stay with all of the other tourists "
