"The photos made the space look great. In person, it was less impressive but overall a good experience. We still liked the layout of the room. But the bed is a little too soft, and the bedding well used. The name is not on the outside of the building, so it was a little confusing. They did send a photo of the door with the room access info that hadn't downloaded on my phone. Technically on the fifth floor, but there is an Entresol floor before the first floor - 120 stairs up. "This was our first time staying in a hostel and the experience was very pleasant. The couple that runs the place take great care of your needs. They serve a nice breakfast for an additional $9 euros and they also offer dinner with a full menu at their restaurant. We would come back here."

"Lovely stay here as we were attending a wedding. The owner Cooki is very warm and friendly. Breakfast is lovely. Hot shower with plenty of towels available. The grounds are plentiful. Pool looks good although we didn’t use it. House is full of old French charm. Overall a great stay. Small criticism. "We visit St Paul De Vence yearly and it was a joy to come across this gem. Minimally decorated, and sensitively landscaped with perhaps one of the most well-made pools ever, our stay was enjoyable. The owners put their all into making this venue memorable. We are already making plans to return, which says it all."

"Excellent place to stay. We had a 'self-catering' apartment at La Maison aux Bonsais. The sign on the door says 'Guest House'. The owner Luc (and his son Michael) were very welcoming.
