Great Home for a Family Vacation
Our group of 12 adults and 4 young kids had a great time at this house. We did run into a few issues with the grills and some lights that took a couple of days to get fixed, but communication with the property manager was excellent and fast. The two-story dock to jump and slide from was fantastic. Not all the large houses in this area have a two-story dock and we would say this is a big plus. Some drawbacks to be aware of. This house advertises 22 people, but the provided cooking equipment does not support that number very well. Additionally, the provided indoor seating for eating is very limited. (The kitchen/dining room table only seats 8) We were aware of these drawbacks from previous reviews and brough additional table, chairs, and cookware for our group. One other item to note is that the interior furniture shows some wear and tear, for instance the couches on the main floor are falling apart. Overall, we had a great time here and would consider returning. We felt that the price reflected the value, minus the few items mentioned above.

Good for big groups and water fun
I’ll start by saying that the owners were easy and nice to communicate with. The house is a good size for big groups and the location on the water with the double decker dock and all the water toys we brought made for TONS of fun in the water! Hot tub, ice maker, grills, and appliances worked great! It is a LOT of stairs to get up and down to the water, but that seems typical for Norris Lake. Our biggest issue was that due to a recent storm, one of the steps in the stairs leading down to the dock was completely missing and was taking several days for someone to fix. Although there are lots of rooms, most of the bedrooms don’t have closets, and the one closet in the master was full. The beds are very loud/creaky and one of the beds in the basement has a broken frame. We did well cooking for a crowd, but there is not much space to sit and eat. We brought a folding table which really came in handy as extra counter space. It may just be that the house gets lots of big groups and we came in toward the end of the season, but there is definitely some wear and tear to the house and furniture. It could use a deep clean as well to get rid of the dust bunnies that have accumulated under much of the furniture/on baseboards, and cob webs in the corners. Since there are no closets, the pack and play provided was stored on top of the basement refrigerator and covered in dust. Lastly, the lowest level bathroom has no fan and stayed humid. But over all, we had a great time!

Updates needed - Listing Outdated
House was clean, plenty of room, bare min bath towels, no kitchen towels. AC worked well on main level down, top 2 floors were very hot. New dock & fire pit were amazing, remaining amenities outdated. Wi-Fi password supplied was incorrect, we had to drive to find a signal twice until we got correct data. Only small appliances were a coffee pot, keurig, toaster and a crockpot the was cracked so not usable, a couple small pots and pans & a larger pot, hardly stocked to cook for 22. The Blue Moon website stated a blackstone & new grill, VRBO listing said 2 new grills. One of the grills was far from new and there was no blackstone. The ice maker never produced ice and hot tub was murky & in need of draining with no chlorine in the floater. The cover was broken & soaked with water, we couldn’t open it fully. Was told a new cover was on order but coming after we left. Mid-week someone came, removed the cover and cleaned the hot tub but since the cover couldn’t be put back on the water temperature never went over 92 degrees so we were unable to use another advertised amenity. There are some new boards on the deck but many more with dry rot, wiggly posts, railing being separated from the base, holes in floor behind hot tub & a step on outside stairs is supported by a rock & a stump. The neighborhood is gated but was never, and our trailer was tampered with when parked in the neighborhood lot. We did bring up many of our concerns when we arrived. Recommend owners go down to review.

It was perfect for us.
The house was perfect for our large, 4 family, group of 15. All updates from the previous review were done. The homeowner was very responsive to all my questions before arriving and during our stay. We were looking for a place to stay that wasn’t too far from the riding trails and allowed us a getaway with a change of scenery. The house met all our needs.

Filthy! Property is not as described.
This property is nothing like the listing. It was absolutely filthy and looked like no one had cleaned it in a long time. There was mold in the showers, on the ceilings, on the walls, and in the dehumidifier machines. The hot tub had dirty green water in it and the filter looked like it was never cleaned. There were two grills and both were completely rusted and unusable. There was a hole in the deck, broken plexiglass on the walls of the stairs, broken bunk bed boards, broken outdoor chairs, loose indoor chairs, non-functioning out door light, and holes in the couch. Ceiling fans, tables, etc. were covered in thick layers of dust. The ping pong table was broken, the microwave was coming apart, and there was no ice or water working on the fridge. The pillows were stained yellow and you could feel the springs in the mattress. The kitchen trash can still had trash from the previous guests and the outdoor trash cans were half full. The home is also infested with lady bugs. We had to clean, purchase bed sheets, pillows, and a grill just to make our stay decent. The wifi and constant hot water were great features. I took photos of all of the above and sent a message through Vrbo to the property owner. They have yet to contact me and it’s been 5 days. This home is listed as “newly renovated” and has a list of amenities that sell you into booking it but there is nothing new about it and the amenities were unusable. The photos in the listing and the previous reviews are nothing like what you will encounter when you arrive at this property so be aware before you book.

Lellepalooza 2022 @ Blue Moon
We found Blue Moon to be very attractive and very clean. It easily accommodated our family of nineteen. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining/great room, deck and common areas all offered the finest amenities. Our family spent most of their days in the clear, deep waters of Lake Norris. This area of Norris Lake proved safe for swimming and boating. As is the case with the homes on Norris Lake there are a number of stair steps to the water’s edge. We certainly enjoyed our stay at Blue Moon and are looking forward to returning some day.

Great family spot.
On a less busy finger of Norris Lake, Blue Moon is a great place to relax and enjoy time with family. Hang out in the well appointed kitchen, dining, living area or relax in family rooms on each floor. Three decks overlooking the lake make for relaxing conversation or reading areas. Want to sun bathe or cool off? Head down to the two story dock and enjoy yourself. In the evening, crank up the fire pit and enjoy your favorite beverage. Afterwards watch late evening TV. Lots of channels available. The owner is very responsive to requests. Made our stay super enjoyable. Highly recommend Blue Moon.

Clean, spacious, beautiful lake view Not recommended for seniors or people with join issues. Lots of stairs which we didn't mind but could be quite cumbersome. Bring your own canoes, kayaks, toys, none at the property Overall, highly recommend for adults. Young children might also be challenging as no place for them to play other than on the water.

Great Family Trip!
Wonderful property that fit us very well. We had 5 different families represented and felt very comfortable with the sleeping arrangements/space. The house is as advertised, appointed well, clean, and accommodating. The owners were very helpful and responsive! Our group loved our week at Norris. Some notes: - If bringing a boat and using the nearby ramp (almost next door to the house) be aware of the hills, the route in and the ramp itself are very steep, your brakes will be tested. There are several flat spots to pull off on the way down that are helpful to let brakes rest. - we went the first week of June and had rain and cool weather for most of the week (high 60's and low 70's) - the house is located deep in a cove, with other houses around, and very near the 'jumping bridge' on Norris. approx. a 10 ride (no wake zone) to the nearest marina/gas dock, and 15 min to the main channel. Really good riding water immediately past the bridge. - the dock is a great space for hanging out, water slide is awesome, and the water around the dock is perfect for swimming. - The fire pit area is fantastic, the best among the houses we saw. Great trip!

Disappointing
Plenty of bedrooms and space for our large family. However, the ice machine and refrigerator makers did not work. The dock was inaccessible because of needed repairs. No working batteries in the remotes. Carpets were not clean and small objects were found in them by small children. There was an overall feeling that the house needed a thorough deep cleaning. Towels were not distributed to the bathrooms. Dust covered the ceiling fan in the main room. No guard rails on the border of both sides of the house which left open a dangerous steep decline. It would be a great place for a large family if it was maintained.

Amazing Dock!
We have a large group that comes down every year and the house was perfect!! We all had our own area with the 8 bedrooms. We love Lakeside estates! It’s close to Sugar Hollow and the jumping bridge. We had an amazing time on the new dock and enjoyed the slide. It was a very nice area. I would recommend a few lounge chairs up there. Kitchen was well equipped for a large group. The hot tub was really nice and clean! Owners were very responsive to my questions. Parking is very minimal for such a large home, but the overflow parking isn’t far away. Ice machine was a nice bonus for extra ice to make drinks. Would defiantly choose Blue Moon again! Thanks for having us.

We had a great time. Property is close to the jumping bridge and marinas. The dock was a favorite of our group too. We enjoyed the fire pit, but you will need wood and sticks for s’mores/hot dogs. Plenty of space for multiple families. Only negative was we found garbage and dog toys under and behind furniture and internet/WiFi is very spotty.

Blue Moon was a great place to stay. We had several families with us and the separate levels of the property gave us the privacy we wanted, but also gathering spots where we can interact with the other families. The comforts offered were enjoyable and appreciative. Between a full kitchen stocked with everything needed to have home cooked meals, and Hot tub for relaxing after a long day tubing/skiing on the lake, It was everything we wanted. If we didn't feel like taking the boats out, we hung back and jumped off the top level of the Deck! Which was lots of Fun. Blue Moon will be a destination we will want to visit again!
