"Arrived at the end of the season when the region was very quiet, so some amenities closed. In full season there would have been lots to do including the floral park next door. Castle has an interesting history and ornate facade and is complete with Rapunzel tower and grand salon. Our room was up high with a pleasant view of the drive. Owners are developing and has lots of potential. Owner keen to please. Calm and relaxing environment."

"I stayed here with my mum during our roadtrip through France. I found this by chance when we needed to stop for a couple of nights. This was by far my favourite stop along the way. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and perfect for recharging. The cupboards were full of useful items (such as plates, cutlery, kettle, toaster, cups, pots and pans etc.). Shower was lovely. "Not a good experience. Lots of attitude at the front desk. Asked to use a seperate card to pay - this I was told was ok. But when I went to pay was told it was already taken from wrong account. No resolution available. Front desk changed when they realized I booked with hotels.com/expedia. Also I asked for another pillow - it never areived "

"Hotel is clean and bed is comfortble, if decor is slightly shabby. It is fine for an overnight stay when on a journey. Handy for Les Sables d'Olonne which is a nice port with good restaurants. We arrived late so the restaurant was closed but the hotel has a late check in which is useful."

Beautiful gite

"The gite is incredibly photogenic, in a quiet corner of the countryside, about 15 mins drive from the beach. The inaccuracy of the listing was our main issue - there is no washer or dryer, as listed, and the host (whilst lovely) did want to charge us extra for the towels and bedding (listed as included). And a €400 deposit. At the end of a two week long road trip, we had specifically booked because the washer and drier. The gite also lacked anywhere to hang clothes (a three drawer unit was it for the main room) There was also no toaster (as listed) and the air con was only in the conservatory area. The gite was clean - we did have an ant issue (solved by putting all food in the fridge), and some of the crockery and cutlery needed a wash before use. Overall we enjoyed our stay and I think many of the issues we had were as a result of the language barrier and the property being listed on multiple rental sites, all with different extras."
