"Warm cosy and comfortable property with 'character' and in a good location for visiting Vézelay and area. Renovated and modernised inside to a good standard, with pleasant outdoor seating areas. Bring your own teapot if you need one! A useful bread van comes 3 times a week with baguettes. Nearest village shops (in St Père) are about a 10 minute drive. Neither our 'school' French nor the owners' English was good so the booking process via the web site emails wasn't easy. The whole booking process...

The configuration of the house was perfect for grandparents, parents and 6 month old; especially important to us were our own bathrooms and loos! Many houses I looked at booking only had one bathroom.. the area was lovely and we enjoyed exploring the canal, the local town including the impressive ruined castle in Moulins-Engilbert. "I was hoping for a few days of quiet in nature, and that is exactly what I got. I remembered what stars look like, fell asleep to the sound of a river, and read to my heart's content, warmed by a real fire. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful and responsive. The cottage isn't too far from wine chateaux (about an hour) and a couple of ancient dolmens, not to mention the beautiful Vézelay Abbey (about 40 minutes), if you want to venture out."

"Large property perfect for large groups. Easy to cater with plenty of equipment Large pool and wonderful gardens. Security and privacy were an issue with interior doors not closing properly and keys and locks not working. The host did send a locksmith to fix some of the problems. Beds and bedding a little tired . With some better maintenance on this property it could be perfect."

"Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce gîte en bordure du canal du nivernais. Le cadre est parfait, au milieu des bois, dans un jardin parfaitement entretenu.
