"Chateau was beautifully decorated. Small elevator to bring our bags to first floor. Owner helped carry bags from entrance stairs to elevator. Robert and his wife were gracious and helpful."

The pool - so inviting (late June - early Sept). country views towards lake.

"Quiet, countryside property. Lovely swimming pool. Comfortable, well equipped gite. Good to have some English TV channels as well as French. The only disadvantage was that the Wi-Fi signal was poor in the first few days and then totally non-existent in the next week. There was also no phone signal so could not use internet at all for most of the time. It was about an hour’s drive to several interesting small towns, chateaux and caves. Local lake was nice for picnics and walks."

"We stayed here in July for one night and it was like being invited to a house party. The welcome could not have been friendlier. The accommodation was perfect and the little terrace was bathed with early evening sunshine, very pleasant. The Air con was very welcome later though. We didn't have the evening meal but it smelled delicious!! Breakfast was exactly what we needed. it was ideal and a lovely change from a chain hotel. Thanks, A little Gem!! "

"Our stay here was amazing, very comfortable with quality linens and furniture. Location was convenient to different sites in the region. Anne was a gracious and warm host that made us feel comfortable immediately and had suggestions what to do in the area. The food was outstanding. One of the best places we’ve stayed at in over 30 years of travel. We stayed 4 days, wish we could’ve stayed longer. "

"Nous avons été accueilli chaleureusement par Annabelle et Isabelle. Le cadre à l écart d un bourg permet une grande tranquillité. My wife and I were looking for a base to stay for 11 days in the Perigord / North Dordogne to allow us to explore the area and found this fantastic "petit chateau" on the outskirts of Thiviers. "Staffs were welcoming and very friendly. Breakfast was very nice with delicious home made cake and jams. We got a tour in the property that have many animals and fish. The place was easy to find with Google Map and rooms were clean. It was an excellent place to stay for us from Hong Kong. "

"I had a great time staying with Virginie and Jennie at Sur le Chemin des Sens. Its the perfect place for relaxing and the food is outstanding. I don't think I've ever felt so 'at home' away from home and the commitment and passion to making every guest feel very welcome is obvious. "Lovely room in an ideal location. Easy short walk to the town for dining options. Clean, comfortable room in a beautiful garden setting with a river at the end. Feels very relaxing and is ideal for seeing the Dordogne area. Owners are lovely and very helpful with suggestions for where to visit. Breakfast on the terrace was a delight. ONE WARNING - this property does not accept credit cards, however there is an ATM nearby."

"Beautiful cottage just outside of town. Had everything we needed to stay comfortably and even cook our own breakfast. Hosts were gracious and conveyed everything we needed to know even though they spoke very little English and we speak NO French! No AC but we were comfortable with the fan even during a heat wave."

Old farmhouse with privat pool- BADEFOLS D'ANS

"The property was gorgeous, clean and the pool was stunning. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a lovely family holiday. Just a couple of points to note. The beds were very very firm, to the point of being uncomfortable. Firm beds are not for us. The listing said hot tub. We hadn’t seen one in the pictures so guessed it was a mis-print, but to confirm there is no hot-tub despite it being listed. The WiFi did not work at all. We called the host who was very good and came straight away but could not fix it. It did not get fixed the entire week we were there. You are in the countryside in an old house so mobile data signal was patchy to non-existent within the property. This can be frustrating when planning days out (or when you have teenagers.) We had a lovely holiday and visited some gorgeous locations in the region. The property was private and clean."

A hill top idyll

"We had a fabulous week, we were met by the lovely Florence when we arrived who showed us around and explained the property. The photographs online do not really do it justice and it exceeded our expectations.The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and all bathrooms had a hairdryer. The separate laundry room with an additional refrigerator was a bonus. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows if needed. The beautiful garden was huge and well maintained with stunning views over the valley. We all made good use of the pool and sun beds although the only feedback we would give was that the few parasols there weren’t really enough for good shade poolside and do not work fully. All in all we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the house and exploring the surrounding area."
