"We had arrived in Paris after a 10-hour transatlantic flight, taken the TGV to Lyon, and driven our rental car to St. Albans. We planned to stay two nights to recuperate from jet lag. St. Albans is filled with narrow streets that seem to have more traffic than you would expect in a small town. It was very dark when we arrived and Verizon's international plan offered no connectivity. I knew the address of the rental, and I had the key box code. It would not open the key box. I tried unsuccessfully to call the host. We finally found an Ibis hotel after midnight and spent our first night there. We returned the next day and discovered the rental actually was located in an alley behind the house where I had been struggling with the key box the night before. We were exhausted and slept well. The rental is small and offers basic supplies. There were two coffee makers. We could not figure out how to insert the supplied pods in one. The other was an older drip machine. We heard a large crack while it was brewing. The carafe had broken. We had picked up some groceries and I planned to use the induction stove to scramble some eggs. There were several new ceramic-style frying pans in the cabinet, but they apparently were aluminum and wouldn't work on the stove. I used an older scratched skillet to prepare the eggs. Drive carefully on the narrow streets, arrive before sunset, buy cell coverage that actually works in small towns, and set your expectations at a basic level. "

"We had an amazing 2 nights stay in this property. Sebastien was such a great and accommodating host. He greeted us on arrival to give us a tour the home and met us at the house during our check out. We even got to meet his adorable dog during our check out. He was also very easy to contact if we had any questions. The house is gorgeous inside and outside. The dining and living rooms were very large and accommodated 10 people easily. The garden area is huge with lots of outdoor seating and dining space.The pool is a great size. The house comes with a wine cellar with a lot of wines to choose from. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also a great size and decorated so nicely. The local area is lovely and quiet, with local amenities like shops being only a few minutes drive away. We will definitely be staying again. "

"This place is very basic but cheap but is close to Lyon Airport, a petrol station is about 1km away. But the room, shower, toilet and bed linen was spotlessly clean. I had the choice of 5 beds in my room and the one I used was comfortable. My room had a TV with some premium channels, a microwave, fridge and air conditioning that worked. I could keep the window/door closed and it was a pleasant temperature. There was plenty of hot water and the shower was good. The Wifi didn't reach here but was usable near the restaurant. The staff didn't speak much English but were so very helpful and tried hard to make our stay good. With my basic French we got by. We had a typical breakfast (ham, cheeses, baguettes, coffee, croissants). The place doesn't look much at first but it's cheap, clean with friendly and helpful staff. If you just need a room and shower for one night before catching a flight, it's perfect. I'll stay again if I need somewhere by the airport"
