"Lovely gite in a lovely area. We particularly enjoyed going to the port to read in the shade and enjoy a drink in the bar/restaurants. Plenty to do and see in the local area with La Rochelle and Bordeaux within 90 minutes to go further afield. Jo was very welcoming and helpful, being only 20 minutes away if needed"

"The property is beautifully situated with a lovely outlook and breath taking sunsets . It is an interesting area - lots of towns and villages to visit . Beautiful Romanesque churches and also Gallo/ Roman remains. The property is comfortable and the hosts Howard and Liz are thoughtful and knowledgeable. There is a great butcher in the village too."

"Sehr gut. Das Haus lag in einem Ortsteil von Saujon, nur 20 km vom Atlantik entfernt. Wir bevorzugten als Strand die Côte Sauvage , aber auch die Strände entlang der Küste um Royan waren sehr gut zu erreichen. Der Vorteil , nicht direkt an der Küste zu wohnen: französische Lebensart abseits der Touristenmeilen zu erleben . Märkte , Cafés , Boulangerien, Feste , kleine Restaurants und Bistros , Kirchen und Abteien . Und natürlich speziell in der Region : Austern und andere Meeresfrüchte absolut...

"We had a wonderful holiday at Davide and Cecile’s gîte. The pool is simply beautiful and the garden is huge so lots of space for the children to run around- and there is a football goal so my son was in heaven! There is also volleyball and badminton and boules and hammocks and lots of beautiful trees for shade. The gîte was very comfortable and stylish and there was air con units in the rooms. The location is excellent: St Savinien is a very picturesque town and we enjoyed playing on the river...

"The gite was clean, modern and welcoming with all the equipment you need for a relaxed holiday. The courtyard was a sun trap, totally private and perfect for evening drinks after a wonderful day exploring the island. The local beach was a 10 minutes walk way and was wonderful to have an early morning and evening stroll by the sea. "Les maisons sont idéalement bien situées entre la plage et les commerces. Mais par contre l'annonce avec les 500 metres pour aller a la plage n'est pas correcte il y a un peu plus quand même du coup un peu difficile lorsque vous avez des tout petits comme nous... La literie est a revoir. Belle piscine que nous n'avons pas pu utiliser a cause du temps"
