"The pictures posted to advertise this place and rating as 4-star was deceiving. We booked deluxe rooms, on entry the reception area was dark, no proper lighting and looked like we walked into haunted place. On entry to room, all I can smell was cigarettes smoke, room was unkempt, the walls were filthy, peeling of wallpapers or paint, stained chairs, flickering light in the toilet, chipped cups etc.. List gets bigger and bigger, I don't want to waste any further time with a review for this hotel...

"We were a honeymoon couple and we were not given the category of room which we had asked for and booked for- floating room. Whilst booking we had called the hotel that we particularly want the floating room when booked with expedia but not given. Even the staff is lousy. Expedia staff kept calling the hotel but the night Reception staff kept hanging their phone without answering and finally kept the phone aside.spoiled our honeymoon plans. "

"Hotels.com website description shows the room booked is an air-conditioned room. The hotel staff informed me that the booked room has no AC. They gave me a room on the third floor, the room was hot @94 degree. The fan did not help. I asked them to give an AC room and I agreed to pay the difference. They insisted that I should make a new reservation with full payment with no credit for prior booking. I had to move to a new hotel after spending 4 sleepless nights at the hotel. "Great place, quiet, secluded beach, close enough to shops and restaurants at Varkala Beach- 100-200 rupees in a tuk tuk. Hotel staff go out of their way to help you, they arranged our transport wherever we wanted to go and prices were fantastic"

"It was a pleasant surprise! The hotel is newly opened and rooms are fresh. The staff are very friendly, especially Assistant Manager Abhey, Jayan, and the restaurant team. They made me feel like a home. The cooked home made food, even I made a special request to cook Kerala’s famous kheer! It was amazing. The hotel is just 5 mins from the beach. Every morning I woke up and walk to the beach. The Varkala cliff is 10 mins walk. Everything was near by. 10 from Railway station by auto. Highly recommended for family & business people. Such a good team. Will definitely stay again"

Nebo Hotel views of paradise

"I loved my stay here the staff are so easy going and friendly. The Ayurvedic massage is the best in Varkala and the view of the beach and ocean is amazing. I wanted a laid back place with no stress and that’s what Nebo is for me. There is no restaurant however Cafe Sarawaa and Trip is Life is minutes away. Also if looking for peace and quiet this is the place to visit South cliff as North Cliff is too loud and busy. Stayed in both and I prefer South ❤️"

"We had a lovely stay in one of the AC rooms, which had its own small seating area and was very private and peaceful. A haven from the busy Varkala. The gardens here are beautiful and well kept, the staff all sweet and attentive and helpful, available 24hr. The breakfast included at their restaurant nearby was also great. But it was quite loud at night due to neighbouring properties, but maybe due to being there in peak season! "
