There only things going for this hotel, from a western perspective, are a large, private, air conditioned room and the location. Location is close to many markets and street restaurants, all of which are cheap and delicious.
Everything else was terrible. The sink drain was clogged. No amenities, not even shampoo, were provided, other than two towels and cups. The hot water didn’t run. The toilet required two flushes to clear. I found two medium sized bugs, and on the second day a swarm of tiny ants had invaded my room. Service was almost nonexistent, other than the check in and check out process being extremely smooth.
Even if you just want a place to stay, i would say stay at a hostel. Those at least have better service, better amenities, and are cleaner and cheaper.
