Traditional Stone House, Garden Terrace Spectacular Views Mountains & Coastline

If you would like to experience a fast disappearing way of life, then this is the place to stay. The traditional village of Kritou Tera, tucked away from the usual tourist trail, yet with easy access to both mountains and beaches, can provide an insight into traditional Cypriot culture. The property is located on the edge of this compact village close to the Akamas National Park, with delightful views over sea and mountains. Situated at 500 metres above sea level, the climate is perfect in the hot summer months. The Cyprus Environment Centre is housed in the old village school indicating the value of this location for anyone interested in the natural environment and the habitat of the flora and fauna. Many organised walking and bird watching holidays are based in the Akamas, with it's variety of coastal paths or high level walks, all with spectacular views. Excellent base for mountain biking in Akamas or the Troodos Mountains. The recently refurbished Droushia Heights Hotel in the neighbouring village, provides an amazing infinity pool which is open to the public all day, if guests purchase drinks, snacks or meals there. So, the Jacaranda is a perfect location for either an energetic or restful break.

Unterkunft Kritou Tera Zypern - NIE WIEDER!!!!
Also, alle Türen und Fenster geöffnet.

Alles bestens, sehr gerne wieder.
Sehr freundlicher Vermieter, hilft in allen Belangen sofort.

Sep 18, away from it all !!
We had a lovely three week stay and can not thank Mark and Agnes who live opposite enough for all their help, support and wonderful company. Our thanks to Ellen, and to John and his team who were available on site when needed. Kind regards, Danny & Anne

Away from it all above the sea
Very pleasant stay despite the noisy dogs in the house opposite. We much preferred the western side of the island (and the mountain interior) to the over-developed eastern end.

Jacaranda more than came up to our expectations. It was exactly what it said on the label.
We were more than happy and very comfortable in Jacaranda. The position and views were wonderful. Eating out on the patios in complete privacy in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere made for a very relaxing holiday. There are so many places of interest within a short driving distance. A car is an absolute must as the village is isolated and I never noticed a bus service. Everything we needed was available in the house. We liked it so much that we hope to make a return visit next year.

Relaxing stay in a traditional Cypriot village
The property has all the facilities we needed. The neighbours across the road were very welcoming and made some good suggestions about places to visit. We came mainly for the wild flowers and the area is certainly a hot spot for orchids.

A comfortable house with character, tucked out of the way in a small village with great views.
The house is great, comfortable and quirky. Even in October we still spent most mornings on one of the two patios in the hot sun admiring the incredible views and reading. The house catches the breeze which is a huge advantage. We like to be a away from the tourist traps at the coast but if you want to be able to walk out to a selection of bars and restaurants this isn't the place for you. Polis is not very far away and it has a good range of supermarkets, bars and restaurants but you can't walk to it. There are restaurants nearer than Polis and Ellen recommends some in the information provided. We would recommend the Vasilikon vineyard at Kathikas were we had an excellent lunch and some great wine. It's an old house that has been renovated well In a historic village, it is relatively easy to find if you follow the excellent directions provided (complete with pictures), it was clean, and had everything you needed. great holiday

PERFECT
WE LOVE THIS PLACE, WE HAVE STAYED HERE SEVERAL TIMES NOW. I THINK THAT SAYS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW. IT'S A LOVELY QUIET LITTLE VILLAGE, SO MUCH SO THAT WE ARE HAVING OUR OWN LITTLE HOUSE BUILT THERE, BUT JACKARANDA WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS, IT'S LIKE A SPECIAL FRIEND, AND DEALING WITH ELLEN WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE. WE ARE GOING BACK THERE WHILE WE HAVE OUR PLACE SORTED OUT. PETER AND STELLA

Lovely relaxing holiday
Lovely traditional Cypriot villa set in a very very quiet village. Like most villages, investment in developing them is gradually being put into the village, for example a new Taverna. Their is a small village shop and coffee shop, but they weren't open during our stay in September. Neighbour's dogs were occasionally noisy during the night. Overall very pleasant stay in a nice traditional property. Would recommend.

lovely rural property
The property is in the small village of Kritou Tera......it is beautifully situated with stunning views from the upper terrace.....it is well supplied and very quaint with outdoor access to the bedroom.....it also has a beautiful small garden and a sunny patio...it was spotlessly clean and exactly as described online....the owners provided a photographic list of directions which were very helpful and their representative was there to meet us A car is essential as we never found the village shop open.......an adequate supermarket is on the way to Polis which many restaurants, shops etc.....approx. 20min drive.....we found the nicest beaches near Latchi (approx. 25min drive) in particular La Plage which has several breakwaters and so is calmer than the ones at Latchi harbour.....many restaurants there too From Kritou Tera is also very easy to reach Paphos....the archeological site is well worth a visit as is the one at Kourion, although it is a longer drive... As a holiday home it is ideal if you prefer to be away from the very developed areas but it does mean a drive everywhere even to the neighbouring villages

Cyprus Retreat
This well-equipped restored village house was very clean and attractively presented. Its hill-top location gave us stunning views from the terrace and garden. From Kritou Tera there was good access to Polis and its beaches in the north and Paphos in the south. Jon, the caretaker welcomed us and ensured that we were happily settled in. We enjoyed walking and touring in the area. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.

home from home
the property was lovely and clean and in a beautiful location, I actually took my golf clubs, but felt so chilled I didn't bother to play, if you like peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings this is the place for you, with polis only 11km away eating out or getting provisions is no problem, we can't wait to go back, and that will be very soon. happy holidays, peter and stella.

Lovely house,quiet village,beautiful area
We had a lovely relaxing week in this comfortable house in a quiet village, 10-15 minutes from Polis with nice beaches and all facilities like good restaurants, ATMs, etc. The North West we discovered is a comparatively undeveloped area with beautiful walks and views. Great restaurants within a short drive. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable seating. Good wifi signal throughout the house. We found the bed very comfortable. Reaching upstairs involves leaving the front room and walking up the stairs seen in the photographs. We found that to be no inconvenience. We tended to have breakfast on the balcony upstairs (with great views to the coast and mountains) just outside the bedroom. Ellen and Norman provide books and maps about the area which was very useful. There’s a very nice short walk to Tera which gives a feeling for the immediate area. We flew into Paphos and found it a fairly straightforward 45-50 minute drive to the house. Great comfortable accommodation, very nice quiet village in a beautiful part of North West Cyprus. We hadn’t anticipated walking as much as we did but having done a couple we wanted to do more. We have no hesitation in recommending the house.

Great place to relax!
Lovely house with cosy woodburner for chilly evenings. The house is in a friendly village with lovely views, is very clean, has a comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen. Lots to do in the area, the Akamas Penisular is stunning and the bonus of walks direct from the house through the beautiful countryside to old villages. A great place to relax!

peaceful retreat
We loved this simple traditional little house and lived outside all week. Our favourite thing was having evening drinks on the roof terrace overlooking the sweep of Polis bay, the Akamas heights and the Troodos mountains to the sound of the acacias. Some nights the mountains went pink as the sun went down and once it became dark the sky was thick with stars. This house is in a quiet traditional village with no new development which, from what we saw of other parts of Cypurs, is quite unusual. However it is only a short drive to beaches and tavernas so there is lots to do and see not too far away.

CHILLAXED!
Arrived mid afternoon and greeted by the very helpful Pawel. We have been holidaying in the area for over 18 years so know the area quite well but it was nice to know that Pawel was at the end of the phone if/when needed. The house is a true home from home, everything you may ever need was there. A real cooker, fridge, microwave, washer etc etc. As others have said, the views from upstairs are quite simply stunning, from Mount Olympus and its 'golf ball' to Argaka and beyond in the distance. The village is a typical Cypriot village but so quiet and relaxing. The house is on the edge of the village so there is no traffic, just the odd visitor to the houses nearby. Don't worry about the external stairs to the upstairs, they are most definitely not a problem, in fact, they add to the whole experience. The sofa. chairs, bed and the outside furniture are comfortable, we ate in more than out and never had a meal sat in the house at all, we sat outside every time. The village is very well situated if you feel the need to travel to Polis, Latsi etc or the other way to Coral Bay, Paphos and beyond. We have not felt this relaxed and chilled out for a long time. So much so that we intend returning next year. Enjoy..............

Superb rural escape
This was a lovely house in a quite village which felt very Cypriot. The accommodation was very comfortable and the views from the terraces must be amongst the best on the whole island. We were so pleased we chose to stay here rather than in Polis where other members of our family stayed. The only minor drawback was the external staircase but this was a small price to pay for accommodation that was so good in every other way.

Lovely cottage in a great spot!
Stayed at this lovely cottage in the quiet village of Kritou Tera for a week. Very well equipped, wonderful views to the mountains and coast from the upper terrace, fast internet. Close to the coastal towns of Polis and Latchi, as well as some great little beaches in the area. We also managed a day trip to the Troodos Mountains, well worth it. Thanks Pawel for being there when we arrived and showing us around the cottage and for being on hand during our stay. Would definitely recommend this cottage for a stay away from the touristy resorts of the south coast.

Truly great accomodation!
Fantastic accomodation, having travelled a fair bit I can honestly say this is one of the nicest accomodations we've ever booked. The house is in a very nice, somewhat rural, style (fully equiped though!), and the views from the garden and balcony are breathtaking. Anyone seeking some peace and lush natural surroundings are highly reccommended booking this gem. Kritou Tera is small, and (seemingly) not much is happening in the village, but this makes for a fantastic tranquil atmosphere you won't find on the island's south coasts. Paphos and Polis, however, are only a short drive away, there's enough stuff to see and do in the area. We stayed for 10 days with our 10 month old daughter, this was an ideal base exploring the western part of the island. Kitchen fully equiped, great to prepare your own foods, free and good working wifi, cosy living room. Very nice and peacefull bedroom and adjecent bedroom. Balcony with great views on the western Troodos Mts. If you require flashy nightlive, swimming pools, bustling streetlife and hordes of fellow tourists, this is not the place to be. Otherwise, highly recommended. Very good value for your money!

THE BEST WE COULD EXPECT
First of all, I was positively surprised by a very quick reaction of the owner as we decided to rent a house spontaneously (we arranged everything during one day and thank you so much for it!). The place and the house itself is something really amazing. Located in the small village almost on the slope of the hill it opens the scenery to the mountains, the sea, tangerine trees gardens.. We have spent 12 days there and it was so hard to leave everything afterwards. P.S. Thanks for the wine and firewood!

A Lovely Spot
Kritou Terra is a lovely oasis in Cyprus, a island which is rather over developed in my opinion. The house is charming with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside and the sea in the distance. The village is very quiet and unspoilt which we loved but you would have to drive for meals or supplies if visiting late in the year. We had fantastic weather in November and sunny breakfasts on the balcony were blissful. I think this house made a great base for exploring the island if you don't want stay in one of the very built-up resort areas.

Superb
We spent 2 weeks at this lovely accomodation. The place was a little difficult to find but once there we loved everything about the place. We were greated by Pawel, who was very friendly and could speak excellent English. All the required facilities were there with plenty of crockery and cutelery. The internet was a little tempermental but we were on holiday. The location is very quiet yet close enough to all the places we wanted to visit. What a beautiful and warm country full of historical interest sights. The local beaches were only a short drive away and excellent. Superb choice if you wish to eat out and with the leaflets in the house and the knowledgeable neighbour there were plenty of suggestions. Would definatly visit again and recommend this accomodation to others. NB You do need a car

A lovely, traditional place to stay
This place is a beautiful home, set with amazing views of the Troodos mountains and the sea. Its close to amenities and if you are looking for a relaxing break at a place thats a short drive from tourist locations, then this is brilliant. The description does not explain that the upstairs is only accessible via an outside staircase, which i would have liked to know before booking. Overall, we would go back to Kritou Tera as the location is peaceful and fairly central for travelling around the north and south west coasts.
