"I normally don’t write a reviews but this was the worst accommodation so I decided to write. I’m traveling all around Asia and this was the most stressful experience I’ve ever had in my life. First of all, room is not clean at all, towels smells awful ( it’s like someone’s already use it before), many ants climbing up on bed, and the worst thing is so many species of insects. We couldn’t sleep because of the many insects and mosquitoes. You can find much more better accommodation with this...

"If you want to see simple Sri Lankan hospitality this is the place. Nice homely atmosphere. In addition to the service ask them about local plants such as cinamon, tea, coffee, pepper etc. They will go the extra mile to please you. They will pick you from the train station because of the hilly terrain. Some improvements needed such as a generator and a good hair dryer and an iron in the room. Generator in case of power cuts. "Beautiful castle like hotel with excellent staff . Excellent scenery and excellent food. The only thing bad is the journey to the hotel is horrifying especially in the evening. It is not easy to find the place."

"The biggest problem with this hotell was to find it. Our taxidriver asked tuc-tuc-drivers and lokal people, and no one knew the location of the hotel. They had'nt even heard of it. We drow around for half an hour. No signs along the road, not even when we were near by. When we walked back after dinner in the town, there where no lightening near by so that we could be sure to walk the right way. The room was clean, but we missed a small table beside the bed. There were no aircon or heating, so...

"The room was huge and the facility was very basic. The guy at the reception was very kind to show me the short cut to the town. Wi-Fi worked well. Warm water was available but I had to bath from tap as water pressure from showerhead was too weak. It is because I stayed during the rainy days, I felt the room damp and bed little smelly...Considering the price and location, I could not ask for more."

"Amazing time at Ella Retreat, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is located a short drive away from Ella city, which is a bit sketchy at times heading up the mountain (but exhilarating). Being away with nature was great, be sure to visit the nearby waterfall! "

"When we got to the hotel they 1st said they didn't do hotel's. Com so i was about to cancel my credit card as i thought i had been scammed had i done so it would have been very inconvenient. After 20 minutes of panicking the manager came over and said we did have a booking. If i had not paid upfront i would have walked out NOT HAPPY 😡"

"98 Acres Resort & Spa is an amazing place, with its beautiful location, fantastic staff taking care of you 24/7, and delicious food. The hotel and rooms were big and very clean, and the pool area is amazing with its view of the mountains. My family and I had a really great time, and we were able to relax and get in zen mode. I can highly recommend this place for everything it has!"

"Ella green är ett fantastiskt litet ställe dit du tar dig efter en liten uppförsbacke. Vi hade utsikt över skogen med mycket fåglar och några apor. Personalen var mycket hjälpsam och bjöd på en god frukost med allt för mycket mat. 10 minuters promenad var vi nere i centrum med affärer restauranger vi stannade 2 nätter och är mycket nöjda med tanke på priset. "

"Beautiful property, the room was very nice also with good quality of food. On the other hand, the service can definitely be improved for a 5 stars hotel, such as massages for 2, welcoming message, taxi service. Too expensive for what it is, need some improvement but we had a great time there"

"Planters House was fantastic! The team were all so lovely and welcoming, and the views are honestly to die for. Being located up in the mountains, surrounded by nothing but tea, was just beautiful and so peaceful. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, instead you order what you want at what time you want it, which is such a unique experience. As others have mentioned, the hotel is a Jeep-ride up a steep mountain which adds to the experience and sense of adventure. The hotel is a little rough around the edges and not as polished as the pictures, but for us this added to the charm. "

"Very friendly staff and wonderful property. They are located close to the main area of restaurants and a quick drive to things like Little Adam’s Peak. The place itself is very nice and well maintained. Breakfast is tasty- what seems like the standard Sri Lankan breakfast, but well done. "
