Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hale Ohana. The rooms were all spacious and the beds comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved how close it was to the beach and everything else we wanted to explore in the South and West Shores. I would definitely book here again.

Family trip
Family of 4 + Grandma for one week at Hale Ohana. It was so spacious, clean, breezy, and everything for the beach, cooking, and all the misc stuff you forget you need. The lanai and back yard were so relaxing. The neighborhood is really quiet and we appreciated being out of the tourist corridor of condos. Highly recommend for all and hope to return ahain

Home away from home
We had a glorious week on Kauai with our grandchildren. Complete with whales,turtles,seals snorkeling and even surfing on our last day. We came “ home” to Hale Ohana after very full days of fun in the sun. The beach equipment was appreciated and helpful too. We would love to come back.

Perfect location
The house was clean and within walking distance to poipu beach, lots of beach toys and snorkeling stuff. The only problem i had which wasn't even a big deal and probably a user error was getting the code to work on the front door but there was an alternative way to be able to get in by using the garage code. Overall the house was amazing and i would definitely stay here again.

Delightful well-located property
Clean, well-appointed with many extra little conveniences to make living there easy and comfortable. Pretty property with a verdant back yard. A bit further to the beach than desired for walking, but wonderfully located for the south and west areas if driving a car. Close to a couple small malls that cater to tourists with convenience stores and great restaurants.

This well-kept and spacious house in a quiet neighborhood is a wonderful place to enjoy the Poipu area. We relaxed in the yard with its fruit trees, flowers. birds, and stars. The many amenities made us feel at home. Mahalo for sharing your hale with us.

This house stayed hot, day and night. We did everything we could think of to cool it down and keep it cool, but had no luck. It never even crossed my mind when booking that I should look for a place with air conditioning specifically. Now I know.

Yard full of fruit trees
This house was great for our family of four! The yard had avocado, mango, lime, and breadfruit trees and some were ripe in June. The residential neighborhood was pretty good. The house next door had active construction and a screaming baby with all windows open but stuff like that is to be expected. The A/C window unit in the master bedroom was nice. Other two bedrooms got cool enough to sleep in with all windows open by about 9pm so one of our kids needed to fall asleep in the master bedroom due to time change. Everyone was awakened by roosters by 5:30am since windows were open. Small shady patio out back was nice too. There was a small desk for remote work! We drove to Poipu Beach (cool turtles and monk seals!) but I suppose you could describe it as walkable, although we didn't see more than a couple of people walking. Also within a 10min drive were Brenneckes Beach, Shipwreck Beach, a cool cave, hike along lithified cliffs and turtle sanctuary. No walkable restaurants but kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The owner was very helpful and responsive when we needed something.

Very satisfied
We traveled to Kauai for 9 days for my daughters wedding. This house was a wonderful Home Base for the wedding, exploring and experiencing Kauai. The home was clean and neat and well up-kept. Plenty of room for 6, but still quite functional with 10. I think this was a great value and we had a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend this house to a friend. With Poipu and ship wreck close by and the spouting horn and restaurant house a short drive we could easily fit in three excursions a day. Usually one or two locally and then one up to the north shore or west side. Three toilets and two full bathrooms made for quite changes when we returned to ready ourselves for our next adventure. The owners were very helpful and there seemed to be a bit of anything we needed.

The owner was easy to get ahold of and quick to respond to calls and texts. Friendly and helpful. Lots of water and beach items. 2 large bedrooms were nice. Small bedroom stayed hot. Lots of fans to help with the cooling. Nice backyard with lots of room for kids to play. Could have been more welcoming....a basket of local fruit would have been nice. Paper products were thin so we seemed to use a lot. Would have been nice to have more kid dishes and glasses but there were a few. Very few spices but the local spices were awesome. The washer and dryer were appreciated but more laundry soap would have been nice. Only enough for 2 loads. Overall a great experience and a nice place to stay

Home Away From Home
This was our second year in a row staying in the Hale Ohana for one month. It was just as great as the first time. It truly felt like we were returning "home" every time we came back from the beach. The house had plenty of space for our family of 7. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of most of our meals (we went out only a few times). The patio in the back yard is a great addition and was a wonderful place to escape during the hottest hours. The evening breeze and fans in every room were just right to cool things down for night time without needing A/C. The beach is an easy 10 minute walk. Having kids and a bunch of gear we drove, but others in our party enjoyed the nice walk to the beach (2 times each day) through a quiet neighborhood. We did not at all miss not being right on the beach. Lynelle is great to work with. She is quick to resolve any issues that may arise. We are looking forward to returning for our 3rd time next year!

great home with plenty of room and well stocked!
My family of 4 had an outstanding time during our visit to Kauai. The home helped provide a very cozy and "at home" feel that we loved. We found the listing description to be accurate with up to date photos as well. The home is in a community among other locals and with the huge backyard, garage to park in, and all the other amenities, we practically felt like locals ourselves. The home was very clean and organized. If I had to comment on any downside of the home it would be in reference to the ceiling leak in the master bedroom which we awoke to during some fairly hefty rainstorms. Also if you are into foam beds, your love the master bed. However, I am not as keen to foam beds and would've preferred a standard firm mattress. But on the whole, we just loved this home for all its spaciousness and everything it had to offer. The kitchen was so well stocked with any cooking accessory you could ever need. Which was perfect as we made most of our own meals. Without question, we would definitely recommend this home.

The home was nice; however, it didn't appear the home was cleaned prior to our arrival. There were stains on the linens. When I searched for A/C, the house came up; however, you have to look at the details to find out that it only has a window unit in the master bedroom, so the house was quite hot. The fan in the LR didn't work. The owner was supposed to have housekeepers come out and no one ever showed up to fix or clean. The German cockroaches were a problem especially when someone woke up to one trying to crawl in his ear. We kept putting the lizards back outside until we realized they were actually eating the cockroaches so we left them alone. The owners were responsive to emails but nothing every got corrected. On the positive side, they had a beautiful patio and yard. It's the only house we stayed in that did not have strict guidelines for departure.

Central location to all things fun in the sun!
We had an amazing visit! We spent 2 weeks at this island oasis. there was plenty of space for all 6 of us. We cooked nearly every meal here, and it has most everything we needed to accomplish that. We were a little sad that the Charcoal grill was broken and not useable, we had purchased some meat to grill on it, and did not find out until we wheeled it out and it fell apart....sad that our good meat had to be done on propane. Other than that we found that the house was well equipped. The only things we missed was a dishwasher (Most places on the island don't have them)....We fell like we wasted so much water having to do everything by hand. We also missed only having AC in the master bedroom, not in any of the other spaces. Other than that it had all of the beach items we needed: Boogie boards, noodles, snorkel masks and fins, beach towels, and chairs, cooler and cooler bags, sand toys. My kids enjoyed searching the large yard for gekkos and snails.....oh so many snails. All in all our experience was great. The home had lots of space, and we would definitely stay again if we were traveling back to Kauai!

Beautiful family rental in Poipu
We thoroughly enjoyed this rental. The rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. The bonus area with the pull out bed can be closed off for privacy which allowed all of our group of two couples, one baby, and one family member to each have our own space. It was equipped with everything needed for our stay as well as wonderful extras for the beach or other activities. The provided washer and dryer made our stay as convenient as being in our own home. In the evenings we would sit on the lanai with our supper on the BBQ and just enjoy the breeze and relaxation of the island. The backyard is huge and would be excellent for active children. When we booked this spot I was concerned that there was no air conditioning but with all the windows open and the fans provided going it was always a comfortable temperature for sleeping. No AC needed. The only pitfall was no Wifi but the Starbucks in Poipu, just down the road, provided us with the needed internet access and was a pleasant outing. Many shops and restaurants were also located in the same shopping complex as Starbucks, so there is alot to offer in that area. Just a bit further down the road are alternate shopping areas and grocery stores. The property owner I booked with was also my contact during our stay and I could text her with any inquiry or issue. She was always prompt to reply. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Kauai.
