"What can I say, the Samloem Laguna Resort delivered for me! I visited early November just as the rainy season was finishing, allowing the resort staff to prep outside areas for the upcoming season. The Samloem Laguna Resort grows on you, I stayed in one of the jungle huts (no.6) which is set back and elevated from the coastline with sea views. At night it is very peaceful with the sounds of the jungle chattering away in the background, very relaxing... The accomodation was simple but effective which is just what you want when staying in such a very relaxed location. The restaurant offered a set breakfast selection and different daily options for the evening menu. After being out all day on the Island I didn't feel the need to venture elsewhere for dinner, even as a vegetarian there was always something on the menu, the food was presented very well and tasted great, I was happy to compliment the chefs on the food. Easy to feel at home at the Bar even as a solo traveller, all staff were attentive and soon understood your likes and requirements. It's very worthwhile exploring the resorts grounds, there are lots of areas tucked away all offering something different, from the private beach to the pier to the pagoda type area on the water, which is great for breakfast, evening dining or just a coffee.. It was an emotional experience leaving the Laguna, the staff work hard to make your stay fulfilling, I'd happily return to Jungle hut No. 6 again..."

"Friendly owners. I told them I was unwell and they wanted to get me medicine and things. They helped me with the ac remote as I struggle to use them. The tours they offer are good the people running them are very down to earth. There’s two cute dogs at the reception and they have electrolytes in the room that I found a nice caring touch. It’s a nice homestead it’s like staying at your mum and dads house "

"This resort was Soooo nice. The staff were beyond friendly and accommodating. They upgraded us to one of the dome rooms on the beach which was clean and lovely. Every meal we ate in the restaurant was delicious. The swings and suspended beds out front really were a godsend and were the perfect place to while away the hours on the beach. This place was perfect in every way!"

"If you're looking for a stay that isn't your typical hotel room style, this is the place. Because the room is its own separate building, you get to have the freedom to make as much noise as you like without worrying about the neighbors complaints. And it's uniquely designed - pretty awesome looking. I booked my stay after the New Year and so the resort was completely quiet and serene. Perhaps also because it's a more secluded resort, away from the party area. Staff were great, and food was delicious. No complaints here. I would definitely stay here again. "

"Great location with infinity swimming pool and restaurant overlooking the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, comfortable room. Easy walk to the other side of the island to snorkel, renting the snorkel etc. from the padi office at the hotel. Plenty of bars/restaurants with lively evening entertainment and places to book activities (the trip to swim with the bioluminescent plankton at night is amazing and highly recommended!) along the beach. A lovely relaxing hotel to stay on the island."
