The resort is very beautiful, the food is good and the staff is very helpful. The place has a rustic feel to it but it adds to the experience. The only gripe I had was a weird smell in the toilet.
There is no wifi connection and very limited cell phone reception but that is probably the whole purpose of staying at a place like this - to get away from the modern world

Beware the elephants!
Stayed at Elephant Valley for just one night. Had a nice stay. It's quite literally in the middle of nowhere which was ideal for us but if you are unable to entertain yourself then may be reconsider. Check-in was a bit strange - the guy who checked us in had little to say for himself - no 'Hello, welcome to Elephant Valley, did you have a good journey" etc - basics surely?! He seemed unclear of what he was telling us especially in relation to when to order food (30 mins before dining times). Lucky for him (and us) the rest of the staff were great - Rahul looked after us when it came to food and information and arranging a guide for a trek - Top lad. Our guide for the trek was also great - very knowledgeable and highly aware of his surroundings keeping a close eye and ear out for the elephant that had passed through in the morning and was still hanging around - we heard him / her but didn't see him / her. Some of the rooms are a bit of a trek to get to - we thought Hilltop was the better option but each to their own. Our room was clean only downside was not being able to have the windows open because of holes in the mosquito netting so it got pretty hot in the room. Be aware of the eco nature of the place with hot water only available from 6:30am - 9:30am and 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Some reviewers complained about food options but we found food to be ok and enough choice. Overall if you want to get away from it all then Elephant Valley is a good option.
If you don't love nature, don't come. But if you want somewhere totally peaceful and relaxing this is the place for you. We really enjoyed the break from the usual hustle and bustle of India. We read our books, went for a trek and enjoyed the declicious fresh food and coffee.
