"Perfect property for our annual holiday weekend getaway for four couples. Beautiful views. Spacious home with ample space for everyone and a gourmet kitchen which we used to make dinners. Highly recommend. "

"This beautifully restored 1700s farmhouse is a perfect mix of history and modern comfort. The house is thoughtfully designed with both character and convenience in mind. The setting is beautiful - plenty of outdoor spots to take in the views. We saw deer and turkeys every morning! Whether you're looking for privacy or a serene escape, this property is an excellent choice. Highly recommend!"

"This was a wonderful retreat from the general DC area. Communication with owner was perfect. Space nicely laid out with everything you need, and it is minutes from the artsy, small stores and intimate restaurants in town, Shepherd University, the path along the C and O Canal, the Sunday morning farmers market, and much more! Folks who live in Shepherdstown are naturally friendly, helpful, and so welcoming to visitors. A great place to chill or be more active and simply get a refreshing g break....

"This house is beautiful the bathroom is amazing the fireplaces are cozy and romantic. Everything was spotless, welcoming and we enjoyed everything so much! Definitely a hidden treasure, thank you for sharing your home with us! "

"We had 14 people stay throughout the weekend. Plenty of room to join the fun or find a quiet space. The views were stunning and kitchen was well appointed. Everyone slept wells so the beds are great. You have a small town about 4 miles away were you can pick up items you may need. Harris Teeter is 12 miles away. Great stay! Vonda "

"We spent a thanksgiving at the farm and it was great. The animals are fun to feed and the house had plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked as well."

"Hilldale Farmhouse has a lot of history and beauty. We had a family wedding with folks traveling from Fl. we all wanted to stay in one place. It was perfect. What I did not realize was the porch with the two twin beds was only screened in. Since this was the case we had a couple folks sleeping on couches. Other than that it was wonderful. "

"The home was beautifully decorated & very clean. We arrived at 4:00 pm on Friday & unfortunately had to leave for a family emergency at home less than an hour later so never got to explore the town or property. "

We had the opportunity to stay in the “Scientist’s Suite.” Looking at the pictures, leafing through the books, the pieces to the puzzle began to connect. "Waterford is far enough away from Washington, but close enough to make a weekend getaway easy. And staying at Scarlet Springs Farm for the weekend was truly the icing on the cake. And Laura and her family made our stay even better. The house is well appointed - fantastic kitchen, comfy beds, beautiful views from back deck. This is a wonderful location to visit so many interesting vineyards, farm stands, nurseries, and some very nice restaurants in Purcellville. We look forward to visiting...

"We stayed in Hamilton for a long weekend for my husband’s birthday. The location is convenient to get to surrounding areas but also private enough to feel like a vacation. The house is great and furnished nicely. Loved walking around the pond with our dog and saying hi to the nearby horse. Sunsets were beautiful over the pond. The house was very cold in some areas, but that was probably because we stayed on the coldest night of the year. Would love to stay during summer to use the pool."

"The house was amazing, great views and a great layout that allowed for us to hang as a group or have some privacy. Very convenient to everything we wanted to do; Harper’s Ferry, Ziplining (or rafting based on time of year), and the Brewery that we went to on the last night felt like it was almost walking distance. Definitely recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat. "
