Weekend Getaway
We had a fantastic time! The house was close to everything we had planned. It is in a perfect spot to take advantage of the beach, waterpark, food and lots of fun. The neighborhood was relaxed and we really enjoyed the canal! We even got to see 5 deer while here. Jack was a great host and very attentive.

Quiet place on the water
This was my husband and friend's first trip to the outer banks. The location was great.Close to everything. Husband was happy to just walk outside and drop a line in the water. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need. We had plenty of space for 3 people and the sleep number beds were comfortable. We can't wait come visit again.

Wonderful home!
Our stay at Waterfront Retreat was truly lovely. The home is immaculate, well maintained and SPOTLESS. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood, backing up to a canal close to the sound. We enjoyed sitting by the water in the yard, enjoying the birds (saw my first hummingbird of the season!), squirrels, osprey and an early morning deer. I highly recommend this comfortable and quaint home.

Nice quiet neighborhood, easy to get to
This is our first time staying away from the beach, in a quiet wooded neighborhood. We enjoyed it, and were glad to have beach access parking. It was also very close to Croatan Hwy, without dealing with the bad traffic on Rt. 12 toward Duck, which can be a nightmare. The accommodations are mostly good, but some updating would make it better (e.g., master bedroom mattress, bathrooms). Good value overall though.

Quiet canal front house
This house is located off the beach but you do have waterfront canal with use of kayaks! The house is tasteful and very comfortable. We felt right at home and the location is perfect for those wanting peace and quiet as well as nature. There is a family of whitetail deer with twin fawns that visit every morning. You will see osprey , squirrels and many song birds. Very relaxing. One con is the house is in a forested area and if you have a child who is afraid of bugs like mine , They won’t like going outside at night.

A property that actually lets you relax on vacation.
We loved this property. It came with beach and marina access passes, it was close to a Walmart and Starbucks, and plenty of restaurants. We spent a lot time fishing out back and caught stuff every night.

Quiet and peaceful but close to lots of activities
We really enjoyed our stay at the Watermen's Retreat. It worked out perfectly for our family of 6. The area is very quiet and peaceful. The property has a good sized lot with a lot of room behind the house for kids to play. The canal is also right there and easy to access for kayaking (kayaks kindly provided). My one regret was that we didn't get the opportunity to cruise around the canals in the kayaks but that just gives us another reason to go back. The layout of the house was great with a large open space for family time for meals, watching movies or playing card games. The fact that there are 3 bathrooms (one for each bedroom) was a huge bonus. Bedrooms were all of good size and all of the beds were also Queen or King size which was handy for the kids when sharing a bed with a sibling. We used the pass for local beach access each day. It was great being able to drive to the beach, spend the day there, then leave and go back to a house that was shady and quiet. The outdoor shower was well thought out and the "critter stick", though not needed, was a nice touch and a good laugh in the event that you found an unwanted guest in the shower with you. Overall, we had an excellent time and really enjoyed our stay. If we go back to Kitty Hawk, the Watermen's Retreat will definitely be on our list of homes to check for availability.

Great Escape
The property was amazing. Seemed larger than pictures did it justice for. Jack helped us get in slightly early and was great throughout the process. Couldn’t have asked for a better beach retreat.

Great location!
Excellent location for peace and quiet. Loved the dockside seating, watching the local wildlife, and kayaking in the canal. Passes for local beach access were a nice touch and we took advantage by spending time in Triangle Park. Enjoyed the stay!
