Southern Paws is the official home of The Wounded Warrior in Action Foundation Annual Fin and Feather event (WWIAF). Honoring and Supporting our country's Purple Heart recipients, this home features beautiful artwork to celebrate the annual event and gathering of US Service men and women wounded in combat. Southern Paws and Coast Realty respect and appreciate our nations heroes.

Skip the traffic! This magnificent seven (7) bedroom, semi-ocean-front home is located in the quiet town of Southern Shores. You can get off the road and on the beach without the traffic. There is so much within walking distance of this home; Outer Banks' top restaurants, shops and salons and the beach! Southern Paws is a member of the SSCA Tennis Club. Guests have use of community beach access, community park and playground, basketball court, soccer field, and shaded picnic area. The private Southern Shores Marina is located on S. Dogwood Trail and provides a boat launch into Guinguite Creek, which connects to the Currituck and Albemarle Sounds. *Please note that vehicles must display a SCCA guest parking pass on the dashboard in all community parking areas

The ground level includes an oversized game room area w/full-size pool table, foosball, one full size bathroom, half bath and ping pong table. Also found on this level of the home there is a gorgeous home theater room that rivals any local movie theater. A full-size refrigerator, microwave, and wet bar makes grabbing a snack during the movie easy. Located on this level of the home is one (1) bedroom w/bunk set and Queen bed w/flat screen. Everyone will enjoy the convenience of the elevator that services all three levels of the home.

The mid-level of Southern Paws has four (4) Master bedrooms (all with private baths) and an extra living area for relaxing or reading away from the group. There are three (3) Masters w/Kings and one (1) Master w/ Pyramid bunk set and (2) twins.

The top level of this home stuns with a newly remodeled, modern, well-equipped kitchen that flows into an open dining and living space designed for entertaining. The new quartz countertops and beautiful cabinets are highlighted by the sleek lacquered butcher block island that adds additional seating for four. Stainless appliances including two dishwashers make meal prep and cleanup a breeze. If you plan on enjoying any meals inside the home, the 10-seat round dining table round will be a hit. The top-level features plenty of decks to enjoy the gorgeous ocean views while relaxing. Also found on the top level are (2) masters w/Kings, each with spacious private baths. There is also a half bath off of the living room.

The pool and game room were a hit. The beach access was a short walk down the road and we found drivers very considerate when crossing. You’ll want a parent with the kids, but you would anyway at the beach. Southern Paws is separated by large bushes from a nearby area with restaurants and ice cream establishments among others but still felt quite private to us. Definitely a great choice for our OBX vacation!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Southern Paws was a great vacation rental. The house was ready early (an added plus) and extremely clean! We have always wanted to stay in Southern Shores due to close proximity to crossing the Wright Bridge. We found the location very centrally located for journeys north and south. I was concerned about the traffic on the beach road since this rental is located across the road but found that motorists stop at the crosswalks to allow safe crossing. We had two dogs with us and the fenced dog area was an added plus! The Theater Room was great fun for Family Movie Night too. Beach Realty responded to all texts for maintenance. We had a big storm on Monday afternoon that turned flooded the pool and turned it green. They sent a pool tech the next morning to “fix” it. My only suggestion - longer summer hours for the Realtor all days of the week or someone who monitors texts and responds after hours for needs like our pool issue. We were concerned the problem would damage the pump as no water was entering or leaving the pool but the pump was still attempting to run. This rental had everything we needed for a wonderful beach week! We would love to rent it again but it is going to be managed by a different realtor and pricing is increasing too much.

House was very nice and clean. We vacuumed and swept daily also to help out with the sand, which is unavoidable. Overall, everyone had a great time and pretty much spent most of the days at the beach, which is just a short walk. Though traffic is heavy, drivers always stopped to let us cross at the crosswalk. Thanks for a very nice, enjoyable week!

A very convenient location as there is a pizza shop, an ice cream shop and a restaurant right behind it. The pool was a blessing when it got too hot at the beach and the game room came in handy when it was too hot to sit by the pool. We’d recommend this house for a large group.

The house overall was perfect size with plenty of room to spread out for our large family. We loved everything about it except the way the yard is set up, when we got heavy rains it all ran into the pool and we were unable to use it the last two days of our trip. The pool company was amazing and did all they could to help us but said it was unsafe to swim in because of all the yard debris and chemicals they had to use. Other than that when we could use the pool it was perfect!

Reviewer Comments: We had a great family vacation experience with 10 adults and 3 children. The house was very spacious, with ample bedrooms AND bathrooms! The pool was great and location to the beach was a manageable walk. The house had many amenities (pool, pool table, ping pong etc) that everyone enjoyed. Had some minor issues with no iron/broken door handle that were corrected in very acceptable timing. The house could use some minor updating (i.e paint in worn areas) and you have to realize that you are on a relatively high traffic road particularly on the weekends. Overall, very happy with the experience and we all had a great week!

Game room was used often. However, the main refrigerator had no door shelves so we had to empty the interior shelves looking for anything we needed. There was a missing drawer in the kitchen, not ideal with a toddler . House was incredibly dirty! Dog hair on the babies binky every time it hit the floor. Your feet were black by the end of the night.all the fans in the bedrooms could only be run on lowest setting due to the shaking and loud noise they made. Recycling container outside and outside garbage was still full from the last guest so we had little room to place our garbage .

April Vaca Family Reunion!

Family Fun
The property was wonderful with one exception! The road noise and traffic. It was extremely difficult to enter the highway from this location. The house is beautiful and totally furnished with all you need. We had ample space but the road noise caused most of us to use the back bedrooms versus the front. The grandchildren loved the play areas, rec room, theater room and of course the pool. We would stay here again, if the house were elsewhere.

Family Vacation 2021 was a success!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was beautiful and better than expected. It was conveniently located to shopping, restaurants and the beach. The view of the ocean from the front deck was breathtaking and one we all enjoyed each morning. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could ever need, but we ended up enjoying the local restaurants instead of cooking in. Beach Realty's rental process was super easy and I would use Beach Realty again for sure. Just two small negatives to mention. First was the tv connectivity. We experienced challenges initially getting connected as it was all streaming, no cable box. Then we experienced intermittent outages. When we called Beach Reality Drew came right over to try to help us out. We then found out there were outages in the area and nothing could be specifically done. The next day connectivity was back on line. Second, was one of the bathroom sinks (top floor bedroom) was fully clogged. It hadn't drained even after a full week there, but we had another sink to use so it we didn't call to have someone come and fix it. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed all week and I really appreciated pool heat was free. It was such a treat! The pool table and ping pong table were a hit! We ended up having a ping pong tournament which was a blast. We really appreciated and got the best use out of the many amenities offered at Southern Paws. We would definitely chose this home again!!!

Reviewer Comments: Upon arrival the first thing you see are stained, unvacuumed stairs. The house overall is the dirtiest rental I have ever encountered. This is not our first family trip to the OBX but it is our first with this company and rental, we were less than impressed. I immediately emailed, no one ever emailed or called me to inquire or respond. I called on Sunday morning and the woman I spoke with was less than concerned with the condition of the house. I photographed everything and will be sending a detailed letter of disappointment.

Best Outer Banks Rental

Some boards in front of 3rd floor sliding door need attention, and a drawer is missing in kitchen. Everything worked fine, plenty of cooking items. Beds were comfortable and the entire home has plenty of space for many people. The kids enjoyed the game room and the wonderful pool and hot tub. The beach was a short walk to the public access. The management company uses messaging to respond to questions. Sometimes that was slow, but if you get someone on the phone they are very pleasant. The owners have a welcoming package awaiting your arrival, very nice! We would definitely come back here when staying in the outer banks, very nice property!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our worst experience in Outer Banks but still a beautiful house and great time. This house needs some attention a new hot tub for starters. The upper deck railings were a bit shaky too. The house could definitely been cleaner. The lower level bedroom had vomit in the closet hidden under plastic tubs. The house keeping crew must have at least smelt it. I even texted and complained and it was not addressed I had to search find and clean it myself to use my room. Otherwise the service was good they promptly addressed every other issue we had. The beach access was tough. There is no wooden walkway so you have to trudge thru the sand to the beach which made our wagons unusable so we had to carry everything. If we come back we are doing beachfront for sure.
