Great home
The house was a nice size with ample parking. The hot tub was great. The house was the perfect distance from downtown Duck and a short walk to the beach.

Spring Escape
Our week’s spring vacation stay was wonderful. The house was conveniently located to sites on the island and very clean. The interior was very spacious with an open concept kitchen, living and dining rooms. The beautiful wood grain cathedral ceilings and the large windows give the house a cozy atmosphere. The nights were still chilly so we really enjoyed the fireplace and the hot tub. I would highly recommend this home for your Outer Banks vacation!

Great September Stay
Nice house, lots of space!! It was a great house for the week. Sleeps 8 and has plenty to do for everyone. The pool was great, sand volleyball is a nice feature, and every board game you can imagine. If you did not want one of those. you could just relax on one of the decks. Worth every penny!!!

A nice property. Fit our needs.
Understand owners are working on improving and maintenance. Need instructions on tv system. Pass word didn't work. Ants in twin bed room. Hard to get out of property onto Duck Rd. The property was very nice overall and would recommend. It worked great for our family.

Room for improvement
Good location. Busy road but you’re close to town. House is spacious has 4 levels, very secluded backyard with beach volleyball court, hot tub and pool (pool was closed we went in November). When we arrived it was pitch dark. No outside/inside lights left on for our arrival. WiFi did not work. Texted guest services they had a temporary fix but only lasted 30 mins. Had to use our hotspot the entire time. Couldn’t find extra trash bags a rental should include garbage bags for the kitchen. Didn’t have any coffee filters either so another trip to the store. Pillows and bedding were not good. Mattress was decent. Bring your own pillows. Back fence was broken not ideal for a dog friendly home. Volleyball is really old and falling apart might want to buy a new one and we had to rake the backyard. Should have some more outdoor games. Overall it’s a nice rental but for the amount of money it’s lacking the important small details.

House was okay
Want to start with the fact that I didn’t book with Vacasa, I booked with a local agency and the house was then transferred to Vacasa. Trying to get in contact with someone ahead of the trip was rough. I had someone email me about the change but when I tried to ask questions about the money we had already paid and how it was transferred/were the fees changing, they said they couldn’t help me and I had to call. I waited on hold for a long time, was transferred a few times, and the person I spoke with had a hard time answering my questions. It was just frustrating, but ultimately was fine. As others have said, the house needs some TLC. Blinds were missing, dead ants all over the window sill in the front bedroom, stuff like that. Kitchen was stacked, but could use some more silverware. All in all it wasn’t a bad house at all to stay. That said, probably the most frustrating thing was the tv/WiFi situation - we had 4 days of rain, so unfortunately we’re home bound a few days. There are two routers, one is for corporate maintenance and the other is for the house. When we got there we could only find the corporate maintenance WiFi and DuckNest wasn’t showing as an option. The maintenance router isn’t meant for connection and so we couldn’t connect and reached out to Vacasa. Took two days to get someone out which would have been fine, but customer service couldn’t give us an estimated time that someone would be out to look at it. We called around 10a and they said someone would be out that day. Then 3p rolled around and we reached out again to see if we should stay at the house to make sure someone was there and they couldn’t advise if the contractor was still trying to come out same day or the following or another day. It just seemed like a disconnect between the corporation and using local contractors. In any case, when the contractor did get out, it was a quick fix of getting the main house WiFi accessible. Also the main tv is mounted in such a way that doesn’t allow for hooking up your own streaming devices (as suggested with the booking, other tvs allow for it, but not the main). It does have a Samsung smart tv but you have to have a login. I ended up having to reset the tv to log (assumably) the last renter out of all streaming services. Biggest plus in my mind of renting with Vacasa was that there wasn’t a laundry list of tasks that they asked to have completed before checkout like a lot of the local agencies will ask for. Really all they asked was that you start the dishwasher. I guess my final thoughts are that you could probably rent this house from Vacasa and your vacation would be fine…ours was. There were just some areas for improvement.

Loved the private pool
We loved having a private pool. Also Duck's Nest has an over the top equipped kitchen. It was extremely helpful to have towels and linens supplied.

Good location, but...
Location is great-near both Kitty Hawk and Duck, to include the walking/running biking path and beaches (0.25 miles).

A Birthday Vacation to Remember
It was a great experience for our party of 8 and our dog. It had enough rooms and 3 bathrooms to accommodate all of our needs. The pool was great, The backyard was big enough for us all to have the birthday cake and celebration by the pool. The house had a lot of rooms , which was great since we all needed some space on our own during the trip. It was great that the beach was in walking distance so that we could all walk around together and take in the beautiful scenery. 10/10, would stay again. Ellice, 11
