We stayed at the cottage for a friends 30th birthday and we had an absolute ball! The cottage looks exactly like he photos online, it was clean, comfortable and provided everything you could need. Check in and out was very simple. I can't comment on local amenities as we didn't leave the cottage! Would highly recommend 😊

We had a great holiday in Burnbrae Cottage.
We had a great holiday in Burnbrae Cottage. The cottage itself offers very good public / private spaces with the main living area being ideal for the adults whilst the teenagers spent time in the snug. We were lucky enough to have hot and sunny weather with the garden providing an excellent sun trap, with very good patio furniture provided to capitalise on it. The hot tub is a great addition as well with this being well used each night. Highly recommend this cottage.

Loved our long weekend at the Burnbrae cottage, it was exactly what we were looking for somewhere quiet in the countryside. The house is much bigger than photos justify so was very good all beds very comfortable and the house was clean and utility room was helpful for towels etc. I would say the house needs some updates, the downstairs shower is very poor and I was happy to get home to a powerful shower unfortunately we did not have enough coal for the bbq on our first night so we had to use the oven instead but with only one oven tray it was a task! Loved the indoor log burner (again did run out of wood so was only able to use one night) and the hot tub and outdoor furniture was great and couldn’t fault at all. I would recommend that it states instead of parking for 3 cars available to state that it is street parking as we expected a driveway for the cars than half on the road. Overall the house is great and I would return.

a beautiful cottage we were with friends 4 adults and 3 children and plenty space for all, cottage is well laid out for all to have their own space, lovely location, nice cafe only down side is that you get a basket of logs on arrival and need to supply your own after, Gareth did give us a little more, nice to have the fire on a cold winters evening !! (we would have happily paid for more (maybe the cafe could sell to guests?)

Don't get me wrong this is a nice cottage and in a lovely tranquile village.
Don't get me wrong this is a nice cottage and in a lovely tranquile village. Initial thoughts on cottage clean and nicely decorated . However kitchen cupboards could do with a clean as well as skirting boards etc some of the bedding upstairs didn't fit well which was odd. We were Monday to Friday and unfortunately the Wee Bear coffee shop is shut until the Thursday so we didn't get an opportunity to pay this a visit. However Peel Farm is just up the road and did nice food and had a gift shop.Lovely base to go off and do things but It did make us realise we need a little shop or a pub within walking distance as it was a good few miles to any shops and on country roads takes twice as long. Mind this property was advertised of this so we were well aware before we went. You also can't walk close to the lock only around it by road which we did in about 1.40 hrs . The hot tub is a welcomed addition. This could be a 5* property if some tweaks were made. All in all a good cottage just let down a bit by the cleaning.
