The Old Schoolhouse is located in the charming small town of Kinross, a short walk from the famous Loch Leven Heritage Trail & Castle. Golf courses, super restaurants, quirky coffee shops + micro brewery are only a short stroll away. Recently converted into 4 light & airy houses, this stylish & cosy holiday home offers private entrance, west facing fully enclosed & secure private garden (catches the sun for most of the day) lockable garden shed for buggies/bikes/golf equipment etc. & private parking. Many attractions within the area plus an easy drive to Falkland, Perth, Edinburgh, South Queensferry & St. Andrews to name but a few.
The Space:
We recommend up to 4 Adults max or up to 2 Adults with 2-3 children.
Compact mid terraced house/bungalow within the Old School House building which was converted into 4 quirky and beautiful homes in August 2019.
Our ‘home from home’ is located in a residential area, a quiet spot but only a short walk to restaurants and cafes which are mostly located at the opposite end of the High Street.
Entrance & Kitchen:
The private entrance is accessed from the back of the building via a gate into the back garden which has a flat path leading directly to the main door. Each room has very high ceilings giving a lovely light and airy feel throughout. The newly fitted kitchen has a dining space with table and seats for 4 & appliances consist of: dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle & 4 slice toaster.
Livingroom:
The living room is via double doors from the kitchen & has a large 3 seat sofa, 2 seat sofabed, Smart TV, TV unit and side tables.
The smart TV has a built in DVD player + Netflix & Streaming is available using your own credentials. WIFI is available throughout.
Games provided for rainy days...cards, jenga, monopoly etc.
Bedrooms:
The master bedroom has 1 king size bed and bedroom no. 2 has 1 double bed. Each bedroom has wardrobe space with drawers, 2 bedside tables & darkening curtains.
Bathroom:
The bathroom has a W.C. W.H.B. and Bath with electric shower over.
Garden & Shed:
The west facing back garden is a generous size so catches the sun all afternoon in the summer. It’s fully enclosed with a fence & gate.
Garden furniture is available to relax on after a busy day sight seeing!
Secure garden shed is available for buggies/bikes/sports equipment etc.
Parking:
2 private (free) parking spaces are located at the back of the building, near the entrance to the holiday home.
Additional free on street parking is available nearby if required.
Extras:
Travel cot & high chair are available on request - please bring your own cot bedding.
Towels, bed linen, Iron, ironing board & hairdryers available.
Dogs:
Dogs allowed with notification when booking.
House Rules:
Strictly non smoking throughout the house.
No parties.
Please keep dogs off furniture.
No shoes in the house please.

Kinross as a base for exploring:
Kinross is known as the heart of Scotland due to its central location, making it an excellent base for discovering other parts of our beautiful country.
The M90 is only a 5 minute drive from Kinross & the following villages/cities/attractions are within an easy drive...
Falkland, Culross, Perth, Linlithgow, Edinburgh, Queensferry Crossing / The Forth Rail Bridge, The Kelpies, Fife, St. Andrews, Dundee, Pitlochry plus many more.
Edinburgh Airport is only a 30 minute drive away.
Attractions etc. within Kinross:
Kinross has a great selection of restaurants & quirky cafes such as The Kirklands, The Courthouse, The Muirs, Cafe 98, The Boathouse, Unorthodox Roasters coffee shop plus farm shops nearby (Lochend Farm Shop & Loch Leven’s Larder with its beautiful gift shop, a play park & stunning views across Loch Leven ).
Loch Leven Brewery is a fairly recent addition to Kinross and is located next to the Golf Course.
Loch Leven Heritage Trail offers fabulous walks and cycle route and you can also visit Loch Leven Castle which is 10 minutes by boat. Mary Queen of Scots was held captive in Loch Leven Castle between 1567-68. There are small boat trips to the island where the castle is located from 1st April to the 31st October.
Kinross has 2 golf courses plus a 3rd golf course located in the next village, Milnathort, which is 5 minutes away by car or a 20 minute walk. Milnathort is a quaint little village which also has some shops and cafes, Heaven Scent cafe is particularly popular with a fabulous menu of fresh food and home made baking.
