"We contacted Una and let her know we were going to be in town earlier and asked for things to do to fill our time until we arrived and she instantly offered us to check in early. Una and Pat were so friendly. They visited with us and that aspect of getting to know each other was wonderful. We used this home as home base to go to The cliffs of Moher and Kilkenny Castle. Ran into Mulingar to grab lunch and shop, which was only 15 minutes away. Mulingar had a great Pub, Danny Byrnes, I would highly suggest going if possible. Una and Pat’s pub was through the roof, the best food, company, service, atmosphere and wood stove! Una brought us brown bread and fresh butter at the home. Pat suggested TullyNally castle and it is a must! It’s nearby and is still occupied but an older man, amazing. I truly could not ask for better hosts.Thanks Una & Pat. Jesus bless you "

"Really lovely large buildings with nice grounds. Very well priced a d lovely spa facilities included. Only downside was lack of places near by to go out and eat without having to drive, other than that, fantastic and the beds are great, really big!"

"Excellent hotel. Room was lovely and warm and cozy. Big rooms. Receptionist on arrival was very friendly and informative. The breakfast was great. Hotel great value for money. We stayed mid week in January and there was plenty of people there and alot going on. The grounds outside are beautiful. 10/10 would stay again. "

"Stayed 1 night for business in an Exec room number 209. The room is large and nice, it's nothing special and starting to show it's age a little, you can tell it's an accountant designed room rather than an aesthetic one, but it's more than fine, no power points by the bed is very bad though. The hotel itself is all perfectly acceptable, clean but some fixtures and fittings showing their age with cracked tiles in the lobby. Staff were all ok, nothing out of the ordinary, just doing their jobs. The best thing, by far, was the breakfast - it was the best hotel breakfast I've had all year."

"We took an extended trip to Ireland and wanting to see multiple parts of the country opted to stay in the midlands. My husband found this listing on VRBO and we booked it. Best decision of the trip. This is a lovely home with a location that made it convenient to visit several other counties in the country. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was present, including some food items stocked upon our arrival which meant we didn’t have to go right out and shop. That wasn’t expected but much appreciated. The home has a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Several coffeemakers and a kettle. There is also a river where the name comes from to lull you to sleep at night. It took us no time at all to settle in. The homeowner maintained an outstanding level of communication and was quick with replys to help us with cultural confusion (we are American and needed some explanation for things like eir codes lol). I was sad to see our time in Mullingar end but if we return I wouldn’t hesitate to book Riven cottage. Not only is it a warm and welcoming property with a great owner but it’s within walking distance of downtown making shopping and days out convenient. I cannot recommend this listing enough."

"This place was excellent on all fronts. I have just returned from a wedding there. The hotel was absolutely immaculate and the staff were superb. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys. The wedding staff were truely amazing in ensuring the day flowed into the early hours. 10/10 to the wedding manager and his staff. I must also give a special thank you to all of the hotel waitresses, who really went out of their way to look after us, especially the wonderful Jer. Thank you Moyvalley and will hopefully return one day. "

"The hotel was delightful. Clean and comfortable room. Evening meal (sirloin) was delicious, perfect med/well done. Breakfast was superb, best porridge I have ever tasted with added fruits. Great value. "
