Family home in the heart of the Cairngorms (nr to Aviemore)

This fantastic five bedroom family house has three bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, games room and a ski chalet style open dining and living area. Babies and children are catered for with two cots and high chairs and a large garden offers a great space for play. This truly is a perfect base for groups of families and friends to escape to the Scottish Highlands with glorious views before you even leave the house. Even better, the property is within minutes of a number of stunning walking paths and only a short drive to in-numerable outdoor activities including golfing, fishing, horse-riding, mountain biking and the skiing of Aviemore. The nearby towns of Kingussie and Aviemore offer shops, restaurants and pubs, ensuring that however you choose to relax and enjoy the Highlands, there really is something available for everyone.
The house is strictly non smoking and sorry, but we cannot accept any pets.

Perfect in every way
This isn’t just a house…it is a home…and a marvelous one. Spacious, warm, and incredibly well-equipped. Our family spent a wonderful week here over Christmas and can’t wait to return. Jenny is a joy to communicate with and even provided a Christmas tree and decorations for us. There’s a public footpath literally out the back gate that connects to the Badenach Way with numerous walks and the location is perfectly suited for day trips. When not outside exploring, you can be endlessly occupied inside with playing ping pong or any of the many board games, reading in front of a terrific wood burning fireplace, playing piano, and in our case, baking cookies to leave out for Santa. We’re so grateful for this time together. Thank you!

The house has everything you could possibly need. It's very warm and comfortable. We had a great week over New Year. Being able to walk and cycle direct from the house into the forest was one of the many highlights.

Beautiful well equipped house in lovely location
Carriden is a lovely family home, well equipped for our party of 10 keen Munro baggers, cyclists and general lovers of the great outdoors. Plenty of space for everyone, bicycles to borrow, games to play, and plenty of sites of interest nearby, as well as the mountains and wildlife.

Fabulous house in a great location
A well equipped family home in the Highlands. In a great location close to numerous walks, bike trails and activities. The house is large and comfortably sleeps 10. The views from the patio are stunning. A great base for a family holiday. Highly recommended.

Great house in a wonderful location
We were a group of family and friends that stayed over New Year. If you love the outdoors, walking, mountain biking, enjoying the amazing scenery etc then this place is for you. Carriden was great with everything you needed and a log fire to come back to every evening. There was even a full size table tennis table which kept the boys entertained in the evenings! Jenny was really helpful with everything as well. All in all it’s a great place to stay and enjoy a beautiful part of the country.

We had a fab holiday in Insh. Jenny’s house is so comfortable and welcoming, and supplied with all you could want for a great holiday, especially with children. A beautiful garden, a roomy, comfortable house, and quiet.
Our family vacation - 8 persons, 2 generations, from 2 continents - couldn't have been better. Jenny's house was perfect for us, with enough space to spread out, but also a nice large table for meals together. We all enjoyed our stay there very much.
