Great Cottage and Great Location
We didn't know what to expect when we booked Cherry Tree Cottage. We normally stay closer to the coast but 2021 was the year of the staycation and accommodation near the coast was hard to find.
However, I have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed staying at Cherry Tree Cottage. The Cottage is well looked after and excellently kitted out. Upstairs, the bedrooms are a decent size and everybody agreed that the mattresses and beds were extremely comfy. A good night's sleep was had by all. Also upstairs there is a really good-sized family bathroom. There's no bath but a really big walk in shower.
Downstairs, there's a nice lounge with smart TV and separate kitchen and dining area that opens up onto a secluded garden at the rear. The owners have decked out a couple of the areas and there's some nice seating for lounging about.
The Cottage is in a nice village. There's an excellent deli/shop where you can sit out and have a coffee or something to eat. It's only a five minute walk away. If you're travelling with a dog there's a really big playing field that is easily accessible as well as some nice footpaths.
A visit to the Windmill is well worth it. The café is excellent and we went up there a few times to buy some of the bread and caked etc.
Although Great Bircham isn't on the coast, everything is really easily accessible from there. Sandringham is just on the doorstep and it's only a 15 minute drive up to Thornham, Holme next the Sea and just a little bit further on to Brancaster and Wells.
We had an excellent family holiday, helped massively by the tremendous weather. We'd certainly stay at Cherry Tree Cottage again. It certainly suited our family of two adults and three teenagers of 14 & 16.
