Maui Sunset Resort is one of the premiere resorts in all of Kihei. The grounds are landscaped with golf course style grass, bright orange flowering plants, and tall tropical swaying palms overhead. Our condo is ground level, so you can walk out on the patio and be only steps away from the large pool and hot tub. Tennis courts are also nearby for those that want to play a round of tennis with the Pacific ocean in the background. And for the children or the kid in you, there are two shuffleboard courts close by. When you are ready for grilling an evening meal, there are outdoor BBQ grills to use.
Our condo, on the ground floor is ideally located on the oceanfront end of the resort, you are a 1 min walk from the patio to Sugar Beach, and you can enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean from within the condo. This unit is also our largest condo on Maui at nearly 1600 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Completely remodeled in 2019, the entire condo has high end finishes from floor to ceiling. It comes fully furnished to meet all of your vacation needs. Enjoy dinner at the large eat-in island inside and your evening beverage on the patio.
You will also enjoy the plush, comfortable beds, free WIFI, and Smart TV’s for an evening movie.
Alongside Maui Sunset is the longest beach on Maui, Sugar Beach. With a nearly 5 miles stretch of continuous sand, Sugar Beach is a great beach for a morning run or a romantic evening walk. In the mornings, the snorkeling off of Sugar Beach is one of the best kept secrets in all of Maui. Only 50-100 yards off shore you can see colorful coral, marine life, and if you’re lucky, the famous Maui Hunu (turtle). Also experience the famous tradition of outrigger canoeing off of Sugar Beach with the Kihei Canoe Club., where you can take part in an invigorating circuit off shore. If windsurfing is on your agenda, the afternoons are when you will see more of the water sports enthusiasts off of Sugar Beach.
Within walking distance of the condo are restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores, while Costco and the airport are a short 20 min drive away. Kihei is also a great central location for any of your day trips around the island. Kaanapali is a 40 min drive North and Wailea is a 10 min drive South.

This is the perfect place to relax and walk out the door directly into a beautiful sunset on the beach. The central location on Maui is ideal for exploring every edge of the island.

This was the perfect place for my family of seven. The unit was so spacious and had everything we needed. The pool and grounds were immaculate. The unit is at the end so very quiet with beautiful sunsets every night. The location was great too. Centrally located to all so nothing was too far of a drive. Highly recommend!!

I love everything about this place, everything is close the pool, tennis courts and of course the beach, you can wake up early and walk to the beach and see the sunrise or the sunset and if you go early you will get to see the turtles.

Amazing location and condo for a family vacation!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The owners were very responsive and made coordination of our stay very easy. The condo was very clean and all amenities were easily accessible. The location on the ground floor made for a very pleasurable stay for our multi-generational family. We loved how close the beach and resort amenities (pool, tennis courts etc) and the beach were. We will absolutely be returning for our next Maui vacation!

We loved our stay in this condo. Such a great location with a huge kitchen and lovely ground level patio. The hot water tank alarm went off during our stay and owners promptly got help. Kitchen was quite well stocked for cooking - only missing a large frying pan.

Great Family Space
We have stayed in many units at Maui Sunset and this is by far our favorite. It is nicely remodeled with an open kitchen and plenty of seating. The rooms are laid out nicely with space for couples and kiddos. It is an end unit away from the public park adding to privacy and quiet. Booking, check in and check out were easy. We look forward to returning.

Kihei family vacation
Overall a great place to stay. There were some minor issues such as the hot water heater beeping when using the washing machine, towel racks and shower curtain rods falling down, and shower curtains not reaching the floor. But overall, a nice place to stay. Right on the beach and very nicely maintained grounds. Only 0.5mile from shops and restaurants and about 1.5miles from downtown Kihei. Great location.

Perfect for a big family
This place was amazing! We loved being on the first floor, so the kids could play on the grass right by the condo when they needed to burn off energy. It's at the end of the building too, where it's quiet and you have extra space. We walked down to the beach several times, used the pool and hot tub, and played with the beach volleyball that is in yhe ottoman. I had kids ages 5-17, plus my parents, and we were all comfortable and happy with our stay. There were 6 beach chairs and an umbrella next to the washer if you are wondering what the current state of beach gear is.

Maui Baby!!!
Great location. Love the first floor walkout to the pool/ocean/everything!! Accommodations were as advertised and other people staying here were very friendly. Opportunities….check in process was tough as we were on the move 9-5. 1. The after hours and security folks seemed anxious to help but didn’t deliver right away. 2. Leave a little extra toilet paper. You don’t have to clear out Costco or anything but a couple extra rolls would go a ways. 3. Island center bottom drawer isn’t seated properly to the actual glides and just falls out when pulled out. We had great weather and fantastic adventures. Now we’re off to Kaui!!

Roomy Condo with great location
We enjoyed our time immensely in this condo. We could see whales from the lanai with binoculars. The Condo has 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, one with a hall bathroom. One of the rooms has two sets of double size bunk beds. The bottom bunks are very low to the ground so my 40 something and 50 something friends, chose the top bunks. They both stated the beds were comfortable. Parking is free and we were able to find parking somewhere each time we arrived. The parking spaces are a bit tight. Location is excellent. You can walk out to the grounds from the Lanai. It's nice to eat outside. We had a problem with our water heater. The owners immediately responded and got someone out to replace it. I was impressed at how fast they responded. Overall a great, spacious condo. Everyone enjoyed their stay and would be very willing to return.

The PERFECT Vacation - AMAZING Condo!!!
This condo has it ALL!!! It has been recently completely remodeled, and you can tell how much effort the owners put into it to make it beautifully updated, modern, and functional! There is room to sleep 12, yes 12 people comfortably! Most condos on Maui only have 2 bathrooms, but this one had 3! With 3 bathrooms, there is more than enough space for people to take their showers and get ready in the mornings! Being ground level was AWESOME for easy walks to the beach and to the pool. The tennis courts are close by too. It made it very convenient to walk only a few steps to the grills in the evenings when you want to cook your dinner too. The beach was awesome for swimming, snorkeling, and nice and easy walks at night and runs in the morning. It is literally about a 1 minute walk from the patio door to the sand!!! Finally, the location of the condo on the island was perfect for getaways to all parts of the island. It was a short drive to Costco (maybe 20 min) and Wailea was only about 10 min away. The West side of the island where Kaanapali is was only about 30 minute drive, not bad at all. This is by far the NICEST and BEST condo I've been to on Maui, and I will for sure go back to this one next time!!!

We would come back to this unit!
The location is absolutely perfect and the property is exactly as as pictured. The frustrating things were that there is maintenance required. Communication with the owners was good in terms of them responding but they didn't necessarily take care of things, And some things didn't happen promptly. For example we needed more ant bait and they just basically told us to live with it. There were holes in the screens and it took about 6 days for that issue to be addressed. The place is beautifully remodeled but the cabinets have drawers that are broken and doors that are out of adjustment and will fall off if not properly maintained. The shower curtain rod fell down and had to be reinstalled by us three times before the housekeeping staff finally came in and took care of it and at that point they also patched up a door screen for us. That being said none of this would keep us from coming back to this. It's just that if you are going to rent it you should totally be aware of it in case it bothers you. If I'm coming back again I'll literally ask the homeowners if they want to hire me to do the maintenance for them while I am staying there. We like it and it is the ideal unit in this entire complex if you need a three-bedroom! The lawn and pool are impeccably maintained. The beach is beautiful and the complex is very family oriented. There are owners in the complex that have been there for 20, 30, 40, and even 50 years! Virtually everyone was friendly.

My family of five, including three teenagers, thoroughly enjoyed our stay for just over a week. Sleeping spaces were as described, beds were comfortable and clean. Darker curtains would have been nice in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, but all rooms had ceiling fans and great ACs. One bathroom per bedroom was very appreciated. Living area was comfortable with large kitchen, lots of dishes and utensils (knives need sharpening, hard to cut our pineapple!). Prime Video and Netflix available on the TV. In-suite washer and dryer were great. We didn't use the beach chairs as they were a little too well-loved, but the patio furniture looked brand new and was amazing for morning coffees. The ground floor unit is fantastic for access to the pool and tennis courts. We brought pickleball paddles and had no issues getting onto the tennis courts, or took advantage of the short walk down the beach to the busier pickleball courts. Note that if you bring kids, there is no "throwing" (balls, frisbees, etc) in the pool...this is awesome if you're looking for a relaxing suntanning session, but our 12 year old son hated it. The owners were prompt in answering questions, and allowed us a late checkout (for a fee) to accommodate our late flight. We would stay here again, Mahalo for a wonderful week!

The stay was great, but washer was not in working condition for our 6 day stay, and the place is ok but a little dated. Very clean and perfect corner for the beach and everything.We also had to buy toilet paper because they only provided 6 rolls for 7 people for 6 days. Hard time with the front door locking also, with key pad on it.

Family stay in central Maui
This was the ideal place for our family for 7 nights. Ground floor was so nice to walk directly into the grass just steps away from the coast where people gather to watch the sunset every night. The condo itself is family friendly with a well stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, grills and a pool. This was our first time on Maui and we’d definitely stay here again.

The condo was large and as described. The location was very perfect with lovely grounds and pool. However, the condo could use some major maintenance. It is run down in a lot of ways- the shower curtain rod fell down multiple times, the sinks were all plugged, no plug for the tub (which was annoying with 3 small kids who needed baths), screens with many holes/rips, curtains

Total misrepresentation of condo condition Vs. reality…
The ad for this condo was a complete misrepresentation of the reality of how dirty, poorly maintained, and sparsely stocked it actually was…. Let me start by saying the condo looked nothing like the pictures and was absolutely filthy. None of us went barefoot inside because our feet would get dirty within minutes of walking around inside, Socks would turn brown within minutes. We tried for hours to get the washing machine to work – it filled with water but never would drain again, we tried all the cycles, nothing worked. When we texted the owner we got no response until the next day, when they said “go to the laundromat and then send us the receipts”! We thought they would rush a repairman out to help us. No way. And how do you get receipts at a laundromat?? The Master Bedroom was even worse. The drapes would not close completely so people walking by could see in, we could never be undressed except in the bathroom. Not to mention the light streaming in at dawn. Hope you’re an early riser. Lastly, the mattress in the master befroom was hard as a rock. The sliders leading out to the lawn area are old and hard to open and close. There were no extra blankets, sheets, no extras whatsoever. It is clear the owners really don’t care about your experience in your condo. The fixtures, furniture, TV’s, beds, all seem to be the cheapest available. This was not about making it a nice place to stay. I doubt any one ever goes back for a second time.
