5/5 Excellent
"We chose Hotel Kaiserhof because we thought it would be only a couple of blocks from the Christmas market. Wrong. More like 40 feet.
Service was outstanding, everyone was kind, informative and spoke excellent English.
The room turned out to be a suite. Fairly spacious, modern and comfortable once these Floridians figured out the controls for hot water heat.
Breakfast was the typical lavish German breakfast spread, plenty of everything.
But the best part was the Christkindelmarkt, a totally different vibe from the international tourist town atmosphere of Strasbourg and Colmar. This was friendly, all local, not very big but a strong focus on local handmade products. Oh, and good festival food. And Gluehwein. And elaborately decorated stalls. And an appearance by Weinachtsmann himself, on a sleigh riding on twin cables 20 meters up! The kids loved it, including quite a few of the 70-year-old kids. A great experience!"
