"Excellent room. Had a sauna in the room but would suggest you leave full written instructions on turning it on and off I think some staff were unaware too so never got to use it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the hotel has z very relaxing feel. Would certainly return "

"Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ). The room was very clean and beautiful inside and the small window behind the bed overlooked the forest behind which was beautiful. Overall very quiet, the only bit of noise is people walking to and from their rooms as they are so close together but we was so tired we eventually fell asleep in the beautiful and very comfy bed. There was a shared kitchen but we shared the oven with another couple of guests and took the food back to our rooms. There was a table and chairs and plenty of cutlery too. This was a get away for me and my boyfriend and we are already planning a trip back with our kids as there will be lots of things to do with the kids and a spacious court yard where they could play safely Thankyou for a pleasant stay Chloe & Kieran "

"Just had a wonderful stay at The Otterburn Castle Country House Hotel. Lovely grounds and despite it only being 9th Feb the woodlands and grounds were overed in snowdrops indicating Spring is not far away. At this time of year we stayed ahead of season and there were not too many people here. There is a small bar area and a lovely old world lounge where we sat before and after our evening meal with a few glasses of wine in front of a log fire. The hotel only has about 17 rooms so you are never going to feel overwhelmed, our room was a select room with four poster bed. Lovely and clean. We just stayed the one Saturday night but we had heard that the food was very good and it did not disappoint. Both our starters and main courses were excellent. My wife paid a small supplement to have the steak and she insists it is one of the best she has had. I had the Burger and it really was excellent and again one of the best I have had. The chips were of the 3 times cooked really brown type - gorgeous - and I should also mention the onion rings that were real onion and not mush. The main meals really were very good indeed. Breakfast was also fantastic. Really nice Bacon and the Sausages were quality. The Hash Browns were to die for the best I have tasted, really crunchy and the Mushrooms melted in the mouth - a fantastic breakfast. This is a family run hotel and the staff fell over themselves to make our stay memorable. We had a totally fantastic meal and stay. "

"Just spent two nights there for my son's wedding, what a fabulous chic place. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Excellent hot food served at all meals we had including the breakfasts. Bathroom in our room (23) was unbelievably hot with a fabulous rain shower. Not cheap but worth every penny, 5*"

"We really enjoyed our stay which was partly a Christmas Present for my wife. The weather was kind and we were able to visit Hadrians Wall as well as Vindalanda and get in some good walks (for us!). The accommodation was excellent the staff very friendly and helpful. We were completely satisfied."

"Our multi-generational family absolutely loved our stay at Fell End. The house was decorated for Xmas and is beautiful throughout. The facilities including movie room, hot tub, table football, table tennis were awesome. The house is homely, warm throughout and stylishly and comfortably furnished! Great value!!"
