"This hotel was easy to find. When we arrived the staff were amazing and helpful. We had one problem with the room because it didn’t have enough beds, however the hotel manager was so helpful and sorted it out straight away. The food was nice and most importantly the beer was amazing!"

"Cheeky night away after a stressful couple of weeks. Couldn't have been better. Friendly staff, excellent food and drinks, and an amazing room. Decor recently updated and absolutely fantastic on all fronts. Cannot recommend this place highly enough."

"Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!"

"With so much to do and see in the Yorkshire dales, the Plough Inn is the perfect location. Very friendly and helpful staff escorting us to the room and making sure we were comfortable. Friendly bar staff providing a good selection of wines, beers and spirits at sensible prices. The restaurant menu is perfect. Simple and straightforward choice and the food is the same, just perfect."

"Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again."

"Absolutely stunning property, our stay was 5* from start to finish. The ambience & the decor is beautiful but it was the service we received by all of the staff and the food which was the highlight of our trip. "the room was not warm enough and although mentioned to the staff, it was some time before the heating was sufficient. The tea maker was in a cupboard on the floor. This is the first time I have encountered this in a hotel, This was not easy to make the first cup of tea in the morning. Having mentioned these two points, the staff we met were very helpful and pleasant. "Local, family managed hotel, located on a beautiful spot of the river. Lovely vibe, and welcoming and the breakfast was exceptional!! It’s not a Holiday Inn /Marriott formulaic residence, much more of an authentic local hotel, so without some of the frills, but the honest warm welcome and great food more than makes up"
