The location of the cottage is ideal as it is a short walk through Fitz Park into the town centre.
The location of the cottage is ideal as it is a short walk through Fitz Park into the town centre. There is quite a bit of traffic noise from the cafe/diner as it is used by a lot of bikers. The Pheasant Inn over the road is handy for traditional pub food. Only negative was the wheelie bin was overflowing when we arrived and wasn't due to be collected until the day we left so we had to leave our waste on top of the bin. Saw quite a few negative reviews before we went but they were for issues that were clearly down to them not reading the property details (wifi is not mentioned anywhere so it isn't available!). Would definitely use again as ideal for a couple or family with 1 child. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We absolutely loved it here! Great location, just minutes from the town, and a really clean, well kept and fully equipped place. It was perfect for our family of three- there was even a baby gate for the stairs which saved us a lot of worry. We could have stayed another week easily and I’m sure we’ll be back. If I was being really picky, the only thing I’d suggest was WiFi access would have been useful. Having a young family means we couldn’t venture out past 6 so it would have been nice to watch a few films. That said, it was actually quite refreshing playing cards and monopoly. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. We’ll see you next year for sure : )

A week in Keswick and the weather was good.
A week in Keswick and the weather was good. Applecroft has a first floor open plan kitchen/dining and sitting area which looks out onto a garden lawn where woodpeckers, nuthatches, pheasants and rabbits entertain. The Pheasant pub across the road has very good food but it is advisable to book since it is very popular.

We had a great holiday with brilliant autumn weather.
We had a great holiday with brilliant autumn weather. We made great use of the buses ( stop 1 min walk away) and didn't need to use our car all week. The cottage was excellent in most respects -nicely appointed, very clean, comfortable, good location for us. I would have given it a 10 - but I was very concerned at the lack of any safe exit from the bedroom should there be a problem with the gas central heating boiler which you had to pass to get to either exit. Unlikely to be a problem - but easily solved by creating an emergency exit via the window. The boiler wasn't set to come on in what was due to be a cold week and the instructions were not up to date, causing us to have to contact the office who knew little about it. They quickly sent someone out but I had got it started by then and he knew less about it than I did. During the week the boiler seemed noisy - increasing my concern. Smoke alarms hadn't been noted as checked before our stay or at other times in the summer and the H&S assessment seemed inadequate. I contacted the managing company two weeks ago when I returned to give them a chance to say what they would do about these issues so I could put this info in this review - but have had no reply. Having said all that, I would stay there again - if there was a safe emergency exit from the bedroom.

Lovely comfortable and well equipped cottage for 2 of us.
Lovely comfortable and well equipped cottage for 2 of us. We needed a bird identification book for the birds at the feeders in the garden. Convenient to walk into Keswick with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. We didn't use our car once here until we left. WiFi would have been useful but we managed without.

Cottage was very comfortable. Allows easy access to fells and easy enough walk into Keswick. You can even bird watch due to the bird feeders in the back garden!

Our 3rd stay at this lovely cottage - we love the location as there is so much to do from the doorstep. The pub right opposite does amazing food and is reasonably priced. We love the quirkiness of being 'upside down' and the little garden has the most wonderful wildlife to watch. We will definitely be going back :)

A very comfortable and conveniently placed holiday home with off-street parking.
A very comfortable and conveniently placed holiday home with off-street parking. It would benefit from WiFi, a more up-to-date TV with a better choice of channels (oddly it seems not to receive HD broadcasts), and a full-sized toaster that takes whole slices of bread. Not major issues, but would expect them at the price charged. Convenient for the Pheasant Inn across the road, and the garden is great for wildlife watching.
