"We had a long day in York out in the rain and this Hotel cheered us up no end. The suite was amazing and so comfortable and the bathroom was spectacular!! The food was so fresh and delicious and the staff very friendly and attentiveThe bar and dining area was all decorated for Christmas which was lovely and cosy. Just wish we could have stayed longer but we will be back .Thank you loved our stay and couldnt think of a negative if I tried !"

"Super staff, very friendly. Room was 95% (shower was small and bathroom could have done with a little refresh) but food was excellent, and lovely atmosphere all round. Very popular to say the pub is in a tiny village, so obviously has a very good reputation. Good use of space with several covered outdoor areas for dining or sharing a bottle of wine :)"

"Lovely village pub perfect location for us to visit fountains Abbey rooms were comfortable and lovely and warm its basic but thats all part of the charm of this lovely old pub breakfast was an extra £10 each but was delicious and plenty of it the landlord made sure we were well looked after and had everything we wanted.we had a few drinks in the bar and there was plenty of choice and it was nice and cosy area to catch up with friends. "Lovely hotel. Had some lovely touches in the rooms with a homely vibe. Right in the centre of the beautiful village of Helmsley. Lovely picturesque place with some lovely shops. Very friendly and inviting village. Would definitely visit village and hotel again. Expedia apparently messed up booking and we were given a double room instead of a twin. The hotel were not able to accommodate what we had booked, but was grateful of the single room offered, but did put a damper on the break. Just be...

"Very nice lady who looked after us very well, lovely pub , room was good apart from being to hot for my liking luckily two huge windows we could open for some cool air , bed was huge and comfortable, shower was ace , breakfast was great , only small gripe I would have is the pub only stays open to 10pm "
