There is so much space for everyone to spread out. This was nice because we had a rainy weekend and none of use felt cramped. Beautiful views of the lake from all the windows! We would book this cabin again!
Great location for a large family, with lots of room for activities.
A few suggestions; Deck needs some work, a few in our group got slivers, needs extra pillows and blankets, and access to firewood.
Overall we enjoyed our stay!!!
Beautiful location, large, very spacious cottage, perfect for large family groups. Lots of space for everyone. We have come for several consecutive years, and our family particularly enjoys the pool table.
The space was fabulous and easily accommodated our group of 12. The second fridge was so helpful and there were lots of supplies (dishes, water toys, chairs, etc.). The location was fabulous and we spent a lot of time down on the dock and in the water.
Myself and 13 other guys booked for a weekend away of fishing, and relaxing and boy did this “cabin” supply! Right from pulling up we questioned if we were in the right place because it’s more than a cabin, it’s a mansion! It is so well laid out and each of us were able to enjoy a bed to ourselves! Lots of rooms, with lots of bathrooms, made everything simple. A bit weirdly, the heated bidet was a huge hit with the group and as each member showed up the first thing they noted was this place is too fancy because there’s a bidet! It should be noted that the area is very quiet so we made sure to stick inside most of the evenings after the sun went down so as to not be too loud, so if you’re expecting a big party house this is not be the right option. The dock allowed for direct fishing, and we barely had to use our boat! Mary Jane was incredibly helpful and very quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all, it was an absolutely incredible stay and many of us have already begun discussing making this a yearly event!
Ideal location, riverfront property, secluded, and yet close to services in Kenora when needed. We had our total family of 15 over for the week which included all family members and grandchildren. Lots of room for all of us with plenty of amenities to keep busy. We docked a boat at the cabin all week which was ideal for boating, fishing, and tubing. I would highly recommend this location for large families.
Property is beautiful, on the Winnipeg River, very private. I am only giving the overall rating of 4 because of the price. For that money I expected excellence. For example our little grandchild got a few slivers off the deck. We tried to keep her in shoes but 2 year olds have a mind of their own. It rained quite a bit so everything outside seem to leak. The downstairs enclosed deck had water pouring in several times. The eaves weren’t connected properly so water rushed all over the main deck. The dock access was flooded so it was very slippery walking out to the dock. My wife only went on the dock once or twice cause the walk out was dangerous. On our own we figured out that If we brushed the boards under water it removed most of the slim so we could walk better. I find I am too old to get into the canoe to paddle the short distance to the dock. All of this we realize was beyond our hosts control as the river water is just so high everywhere.
Inside s very nice, beds are great, each family had an entire floor to themselves. The dish washer is not attached to the cupboard as it should be. No problem for me, I just kept adjusting it to fit but some of my family complained as it would tilt the tray out, almost on the floor.
Water toys are great. We had a lot of fun with the paddle board abound kayaks, thanks for that. The garage was great on rainy days for our son and grandson to play a little indoor soccer. Unfortunately they found a cockroach, but only one so I see why the hosts ask us to remove garbage regularly.
The new toilet/bidet was a big hit. You won’t find that in many places.
In short the accommodations are great but for the price it needs a bit of TLC in spots, like vinyl flooring on the deck and a few outside finishes.
Maryjane was very helpful, only a quick text away.
I have stayed here before and loved. I returned for a beautiful weekend with friends and they loved their stay as much as I have. The cabin is spacious, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable for a larger group size. The location is stunning. Communicating with the host is very easy and helpful. We already can’t wait to return. Thanks so much for a truly memorable stay❤️
We had a very nice stay in the property with family and friends. The kids surely love the lake. Mary Jane is a very good host and will attend to inquiries asap. We’ll be looking looking forward for our back to this awesome place!❤️
We were a group of 18 that stayed here for a weekend and it was amazing. The pictures really don’t do the place justice. It had plenty of space for all of us, two kitchens to cook and everything you would need for a weekend stay. Really enjoyed it, would recommend to everyone. And Mary Jane was very easy to get a hold if we had any questions.
It is an absolutely beautiful waterfront home. Lots of space and amenities. We were disappointed that there were dirty dishes in the cupboards and some of the cutlery also needed to be rewashed before use.
There was no mention of the mandatory $700 deposit outside of VRBO via e-transfer. There was no cleaning fee charged and we were unsure what was expected of us so we went above what we would normally do in a rental by washing all towels and cleaned up sinks and mirrors. The area requires you to haul away your own garbage and recycling so you should know that before you go.
We really appreciated the fact that they let us use the 2 stair lifts for our elderly mother so she could enjoy all levels of the home. This place is absolutely amazing and the hosts are very accommodating. MaryJane was excellent at texting communication. We just were surprised by some of the expectations that were not shown on the listing but it was a wonderful weekend.
We stayed at the cabin for two nights and had an intimate wedding with our closest friends and family - everyone is still talking about how beautiful the cabin and property was! It was clean, fully equipped with everything we needed, and it really felt like home. We will definitely be coming back next year! Thank you for the hospitality!
Our group had a great time at Maryjane and Kerry’s beautiful cottage! So much space outside for activities and despite the weather being a big cold we enjoyed being outside. Maryjane was quick to respond and checked up on us via text as well! We look forward to coming back!
