Had a great stay here this week while visiting family and places in the lakes, house was a great base for the week, exactly as listed, and brilliant for a family. Would definitely stay again
The property was very clean, comfortable & attractive. The location is really good for accessing the lovely town centre.
We were very comfortable & only thing lacking was the availability of a washing machine, well missed with small children in the house.
It was a good cottage with all facilities you require
Overall it was good cottage for family. It was clean and had all the facilities that we would require.. We have few minor suggestions, tv can be changed to a smart tv, we couldn’t see Netflix or prime which was very much required to keep the kids engaged. Apart from that we had a good stay.
Set in housing scheme teens at night kicking football into cars.Parking restricted during 8am and 6pm no return in 2 hours. Told 2 car spaces but only 1.washing machine smells musty.lights not all working on stairs.Top bathroom one light working out of 4.One bath towel per guest to last a week.No bathmats.Dust along top of head board and empty bottle under bed.Dirty marks all down hallway oven not cleaned and freezer iced up.Bin with broken lid, wallpaper coming off.Decking outside front door unsafe and needed weeded rusty garden furniture.

Disliked: Check-in
Good Location, but………
Nice and tidy but overall very dark inside in the living area. Any more than 4 would struggle to accommodate themselves in the living room area.
Location of the property is within 2 minutes walk of the main town centre. Many restaurants to choose from with a selection of cuisines.
Parking right outside front door with mini seating area. Could do with updating as the wood tiles kept moving around. Maybe would struggle with 2 cars as when we was here, there was a car parked in front of us using the second car parking space.
Just to note this is a very residential area, can be nosy at night with children playing outside.
Main bedroom on first floor with on-suite, very big room, stylish bathroom with walk in wardrobe. Only complaint would be a little mould around bathtub. Mini living area on this floor also which is a nice space. French doors open with seating, the view is questionable though.
2 bedrooms on 3rd floor. Spacious rooms, with a family bathroom. Only issue with this one was water pressure was very low to the top so the shower kept shutting off. Light and airy.
To be able to give future traveler’s a true review of this home it will take form of a two pronged approach.
What was good about the stay.
• The home has a good layout very easy to make it feel like home.
• it very close to the town which made eating out and exploring a dream.
• there is a park right next to property so people travelling with children will love having that on their doorstep.
What needs improvement.
• the property states 2 car parking spaces this however is not the case there is room for one car outside the front of the property on the road. We traveled with two cars and had to park the second car elsewhere which we had to keep moving. If it was made clear then we would have traveled with only one car not two.
• the tv downstairs does not work we had two engineers that traveled with us and they could not get it to work. I understand you don’t normally come to Lake District to watch tv but unfortunately we had terrible weather and just wanted to relax and watch a movie. We did find out the tv upstairs work but it was in a room with little space for all of us to relax in at the same time.
• all hand soap holders was empty in the property
• the big bathroom of the main bedroom needs attention as there was spiders and mildew around the bath.
• the pillow protectors on the double bed was covered in sweat stains.
Most of these issues are simple to fix with better cleaning and minimal repairs along with a clearer information on parking.
Excellent. Lovely decor and well laid out. Great sized rooms and fully equipped. Extremely warm and cosy and very much appreciated as we stayed during a really cold spell. Great location. Would definitely stay here agsinaagain.
Kendal is a great place for heading out to all areas of the Lake District. And Mint Cake Mews is perfectly placed… a 2 minute walk into Kendal and a 5 minute drive to the main arterial routes to Windermere, Keswick, etc.
The property has been tastefully modernised throughout, the accommodation was comfortable, and easy to keep clean for dog owners.
We also made good use of the washing machine so we were able to keep the changes of clothes to a minimum and saving space in the car!
Would highly recommend it.
Stayed with family for a wedding. Property was very spacious for 2 families as property was over 3 floors. We worried about other comments about parking spaces, no problems at all managed 2 cars easily at the front of the property. Bonus for children as there is a park over the road. Was one of the cleanest stays we have had, no issues at all. We have already talked about wanting to stay again.
A little bit of tweaking to a broken blind and plumbing works to finish but apart from that this property was a lovely home to rent in a quiet area in close proximity to visiting the lakes. Would recommend to any family visiting the area especially as it had a play park nearby.
The cottage is really well situated and made for a really pleasant week-long holiday. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless and have great facilities. The living/dining/kitchen area was a nice communal area for us all. There were one or two rough edges, for example a blind that was falling down and no sink in the downstairs toilet, however with a little snagging we’re sure these can be easily rectified. Overall we were really impressed with the property and would happily recommend it to others.
