The Roxburgh Street apartment is a recently refurbished spacious second floor apartment in the heart of the historic market town of Kelso in the Scottish Borders. It is just a few steps off the cobbled market square, offering comfortable spacious (88 sq meters) 2 bedroom accommodation for up to 4 guests, with your own private entrance and staircase and equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay, including a wood burning stove for cosy winter evenings.
The apartment has retained many of its original 1870 period features, including sash windows and shutters. It benefits from two bedrooms, one with a King sizes bed and the other 2 single beds, with luxury Egyptian cotton bedding. There are USB and Micro charging points in both rooms. The living room has two sofas and a Smart TV, with streaming apps and screen sharing. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath. Handwash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner is provided along with towels. The kitchen / diner has a dining table for 4 and is fully equipped with all cutlery, pans, crockery and glasses as well as an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dual washer/tumble dryer. The apartment has full gas central heating and instant hot water. There is free Fibre Broadband Wi-Fi for streaming. The apartment has its own private entrance and stairs. On the first floor landing there is storage where items like golf and fishing equipment can be stored securely. If you would like to store bikes please enquire directly.
The apartment is smoke free and unfortunately we do not allow pets.
Kelso is a friendly traditional Scottish Border town, described by Sir Walter Scott as “..the most beautiful if not the most romantic village in Scotland.” The town sits on the River Tweed where it meets the river Teviot and is famous for its fishing. There is a walk along the river bank very close to the rear of the apartment.
The historic market square is the largest in Scotland and is uniquely continental style. There is a good range of restaurants, pubs, shops and cafes to explore, as well as a regular market.
There is much to see and do within walking distance from the apartment. Including Floors Castle and Gardens, Kelso Abbey, Kelso Recourse, BMX bike park, Ice Rink, golf club, Borders Events Centre, swimming pool, rugby club and fishing museum. Kelso is a popular location for those passionate about fishing, walking, cycling and golf.
Kelso is an ideal location for exploring the Scottish borders and the Northumberland National Park and coast. (Melrose 14 miles, Lindisfarne (Holy Island) 26 miles, St Abbs 28 miles, Edinburgh 44 miles, Bamburgh Castle 34 miles, Northumberland National Park 13 miles).
Tweedbank rail station is 16 miles away and provides a regular train into Edinburgh as does Berwick 23 miles away.

Please note the apartment is accessed by staircase so not suitable for those with limited mobility. As the apartment is in a central location you may experience some nightlife noise typical of a small town centre.
