Located in the Village of Coboconk, the Coby Boathouse is one of few remaining two-storey boathouses along the Trent-Severn Waterway.

Built in the mid-1970s & recently renovated, the boathouse is an imposing 600-square-foot structure, with a wetslip below & an updated two-bedroom apartment above.

Coboconk is perfectly placed within the Kawartha Lakes.
Lounging on the dock may be your complete itinerary, though there's lots of explore if you decide to venture away from the boathouse. :)

There are many things to see and do within short driving distance, including
- Creating your own Butter Tart Tour: https://buttertarttour.ca
- Hiking & Canoeing in Balsam Lake Provinical Park
- Shopping in Downtown Bobcaygeon
- Birdwatching in the Carden Alvar (https://www.explorekawarthalakes.com/en/plan-your-trip/kirkfield.aspx)

The Ken Reid Conservation Area is renowned.

There's also the Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve (4164 Monck Road):
“Largest nature reserve in Ontario’s Nature Reserve System; with “a few geocaches along the way."

The boathouse has been carefully restored & updated over the past few years. Recent renovations include pine floors and ceilings, a new open concept kitchen, and a high-efficiency fireplace. A 30-foot deck looking toward Balsam Lake offers a picturesque vista at all times of year.

Complementing modern amenities are a number of vintage fixtures, including stained glass window and vanity, a claw-foot tub & original corduroy furniture for a "retro-chic" feel. Arts and crafts by local artists also pepper the walls and shelves with some of them for sale. You never know what you'll find when you pay a visit!

The Boathouse has 2 bedrooms: A front bedroom with 1 Queen-size bed, and a back bedroom 1 King-size bed (or, if preferred, 2 Twin-size beds).

In the case of extra guests (particularly the younger variety) there is also a Hide-a-Bed in the common area that pulls out from the love-seat.

We're glad to share that the Queen & King Beds have brand-new GhostBed Memory Foam Toppers & the Hide-a-Bed boasts a brand new custom-mattress. We hope the investment will translate into comfortable, easy sleeps during your stay.

We're delighted to share some updates & new amenities for the 2024 season:
〰️ A dock ladder for a gradual entry into the river
〰️ Fresh, (very) local bagels are on us, if you're interested! :)
〰️ Additional standing fans and an air circulator for the common area
〰️ Additional seating in the common area
〰️ New easy-to-use cookware (10 x 15" baking sheet / 12” non-stick skillet)
(of note, we keep the pantry stocked with basic cooking/baking staples, like flour, sugar, cooking spray, coffee, tea, etc.; we ensure there is local maple syrup, honey, & condiments in the fridge)
〰️ A fire blanket (which we hope you will never need)
〰️ Hand-made soap for the bathtub
〰️ A fleet of watercraft for rent, if you want, including 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, & a 5-person pedal boat, along with paddles & lifejackets (the fee is $200 for a stay of less than four days, & $400 for a week)
