I was a little hesitant using a third party to book our trip, but it went off without a hitch! Check-in was smooth and the room was ready for us when we arrived. We even got a top floor room which meant tall ceilings and we were able to watch the humpback whales from our balcony!
We spent our resort days lounging in the cabanas on the beach and found that they were well worth the cost! The pool by the south building was in the shade most of the day which was nice for when we didn't want to worry about getting burned, but it made it a bit chilly. Our kids also liked getting the shaved ice and renting the boogie boards to use in the lagoon.
We were surprised how much our kids liked the beach versus the pool as they usually don't love the surf/sand, but the protected lagoon area was a game changer for them. A Hawaiian monk seal even spent the day lounging on the beach with us (at a safe distance)!
There are only two food options at the resort but we ate quite a bit at Longboard's. We only had brunch one day at Longhi's which was delicious, but a little pricey. Our favorite meals were offsite at MonkeyPod and Roy's.
My mom and I got massages at the resort. We opted for the outdoor option and I would probably pick indoor next time since it the cabanas are close to the fitness center pool and it was a bit noisy at times. The massage itself was great, though!
The kitchen was well appointed and the only thing I would suggest would be to bring ziploc bags with you since there wasn't a lot of sealable food storage options. It was nice to be able to have easy breakfast in the room.
When we checked out, we did need to go to the front desk to get our folio as the electronic version went to the owner, but that wasn't a problem since we were already going there to get our "Stay and Play" cards that gave us access to the amenities between checkout and our evening flight. It was nice to spend a few extra hours at the pool and be able to use the locker rooms to shower off before heading to the airport.
